    2nd gen bolt on sliders are the same 2wd and 4x4, however 3rd gen bolt on sliders are different from 2wd to 4x4. So something changed a little.

    I would assume that is the location of the tranny crossmember due to the transfer case. Is it not that way on 2nd gens?

    You are correct sir. They may be different on the 2nd gens as well (I think they are).
    But a 3rd gen 2wd bought sliders and when he went to bolt them up the crossmember tabs that came down didn't line up. The manufacturer wasn't aware that this spot was different from 2wd to 4x4 on a 3rd gen, but they still sell the same sliders for 2wd and 4x4 2nd gens. :notsure:
