Not much has been updated. @Shmellmopwho did the CMC since the 285/75's were rubbing, they came out great!

Ordered some OME dakars to get some more rake in the rear. Reason? Because just finished building a platform in the bed! Left the small space for the fridge. Now figuring if i should stain the wood or just wrap it with some carpet. Also going to be adding little bumpers for around the wood, where the fridge will go.

Of course. It was my pleasure. I have a Big Bear trip planned with my family in July. That's pretty much all for right now. But hoping for more! You?

Platform looks good. Are any of the top plywood peices removable? I wouldn't stain it, I would just paint it. Paint the legs and support section black and wrap the top in carpet.

I painted my platform a while back, just plain outdoor grade flat black. It's held up alright but if I was to do it again I'd consider using a product called "Duratex". It's used mainly in custom speaker/sub enclosures or custom "road cases" in the entertainment business. It creates a super hard textured surface and is also scratch resistant and water proof.

Thanks! I am very happy how it came out. Yes they are all removable. Can remove everything in about a minute, and about the same time putting it all back in. Total is seven pieces.

I looked into this "duratex" paint, its actual paint, not a spray paint, correct? and you also wrapped it with carpet? did you glue the top and then staple the bottoms?

You can roll it on or spray it from a gun. My platform is just painted, no carpet.

I am actually un-sure. When I spoke to Jordan at Baja Kits he said that they were stock springs from Kings.

So the OME Dakar's are BEEFY! I also put in a AAL just for the extra beefy-ness.

Im glad to hear that! I was starting to regret the AAL, but since there already is a topper and a platform built in, I didnt think the OME dakars would be enough. I still prefer a little rake.. but i got over 3 inches of extra height LOL. and that is with all my camping equipment in there (except propane and canopy).

I personally love my snugtop. But i understand your dilemma. I had a 2nd gen short bed and would've never got the topper since i am over 6 foot, sleeping in it would've never made sense. In the end I got one of those truck tents that worked great for weekend trips. A bed rack and RTT would go great with your set up though.

No worries! Not sure if I answered, but i think stock is just 600#. I was ready other reviews and 700 # spring would be good if youre going with an aftermarket bumper and winch.

A side by side shot of the old stock leafsprings vs the new OME dakars with AAL:
