Hey folks. I have a 2016 DCSB. I am currently running a set of CBI Overland Bars (these: https://cbioffroadfab.com/product/overland-bars-duplicate/), but am considering a CBI Overland Bed Rack (this: https://cbioffroadfab.com/product/3rd-gen-tacoma-overland-bed-rack/). Few reasons for it I wont get into cause it ain't the point. I am wondering if anyone has this setup and can tell me if a soft top (brand is not important, but the only one I know of it SoftTopper) fits under it. I've seen a few pics with folks running similar setups, but I can't tell what Bed Rack they had. Thanks!

I'm not running it but I can tell you right now it wont fit from the way it attaches to the bedrails. The softopper is too wide. @Mobtown Offroad just released their version of a bedrack that will fit over the softopper. I built my own that works as well but its not all fancy like the CBI with all the attachments.

SOS Concepts has a rack that goes over the Softopper. Mike will be here next week.

It doesn’t look like the CBI rack mounts can coexist with the soft topper’s because both need to rest on the bedsides. Take a look at the Softopper install videos on YouTube and then look at the CBI rack design.

In addition to three above, Dissent Offroad’s rack fits over a soft topper:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/which-bedrack-kb-voodoo-or-dissent-offroad.564718/

(Edit: it’s cool to see so many rack options that work with softoppers!)

The dissent is a cool one! I like the bolt up and CNC design. I emailed them about static and dynamic load ratings.

I have a fairly similar question.

I have the all-pro bed rack (the tallest they make), but I want to get rid of it and get a kb voodoo. I assume there are not any soft-toppers that would fit that, correct?

If not, are there any bed racks that would fit a soft topper that have side-mounting panels that come with it??

forgot to close the loop on this. I've had the Dissent rack installed for a few weeks and love it. There is true genius in the design. He though of everything. there are no instructions which sucked, like really sucked, but it's all good in the end. I see CBI offers a full height rack now as well, but what I've seen you might wait 6 months for one. Dissent was a 3 month wait.

Just installed a softopper under my dissent off-road bed rack. Seriously a pain in the ass to do it in that order. Highly recommend softopper first then bed rack if you have a choice

Like that there are now several options for racks over the Softopper, and that tubing. Mobtown looks good, SOS has an aluminum version coming?

Softopper is offering a group buy through 10/31/19 for a minimum of 10 purchasers. $45.95 off the price of a new top. That's your choice of top color, either 2nd or 3rd gen, short or long bed and delivered to your door with no sales tax outside of CO. Purchase normally through them, notify them you are part of the group buy. I don't have enough posts to list it in the group buy section.
