I cut the old weathered beat up buckles off and ran the pin through then screwed in the new buckle. Simple, effective and an incredibly intelligent design tailored for these sort issues!

Do a solo stove thread next! Another thing that I thought may be over hyped, but turned out awesome. I want to get a smaller one to take when I go camping in the softopper.

I have a bestop super top 2, similar, but different than a softopper.

1: Build quality is pretty damn good, the neighborhood kids like to climb on top of my topper and sit up there... they range from 5-9 years old.
2: Way worth it, I can put it down when I need to carry big things and put it up to carry things that need protection
3: Ive had mine for about a year, but it still looks brand new
    4: -
5: No real noise from mine, you get a big when you open the rear sliding window though.

You let kids sit on yours?! Idk if the ST would handle that. That would make me so nervous.

I yell at them to get off each time, but its good to know it can handle the weight of a 9 year old.

Get the 3/4 20mm one. I got them for that very same reason. I posted a link on page one on which one to get. You can find them at your local REI but it's best to order in all 8 at once.

Definitely love my soft topper. We do a lot of trips with the taco and it makes everything so much easier. You can pile all your boards or gear and loose items, stack it up high, and not worry about a thing. It has held up really well to the elements and the sun. I do hit it with some product when I wash the truck to keep it nice and true and black. Feel free to reach out with questions. Definitely worth the investments. I've only had mine, a little over a week, but I'm loving it and have been eyeing them up for years. The fit and finish are great. The aluminum frame doesn't inspire a ton of confidence. But, once it's all assembled and strapped down, its plenty tough. I have no doubt I'll have it for many, many years. I've had it on a few highway trips so far and its rock steady.

Love my soft topper, probably my favorite accessory. Slept in it a few times while camping.

The flap in the front inside of the bed goes about 1/2-3/4 the way down which is where I had to put the snaps. Not a big fan but it’s whatever.

Really well actually, I thought it was going to bend at least a little bit, but the way they designed it, each bar has a tube inside of a tube, so its super thick.
