A quick update to one of my previous post's.

We had a hail storm back in July and I finally had the insurance agent out to quote the damage to my truck. He found about $3500 of hail damage to the truck itself and my Soft Topper withstood the storm w/o even a scratch!! The wind blew so hard that the driver's side has hail dents but the topper held up to the wind, rain, and hail w/o a problem. These are very well made toppers.

Ahhh this has me seriously considering a soft topper now isntead of a hard cap. Mainly wanting it for sleeping inside and hauling gear out of the rain. Anyone have some interior pics of it?

Edit: Just saw a few interior pics on the previous page...looks BA

I have had the Softopper for 2 years now, its holding up well it has spent time in AK, NM, and ID climates and been on the truck for over 40K miles. It is still in good shape, the stiching has held together, it is tight on the frame and none of the windows have broken. I have only replaced 1 snap on the side a friend broke it trying to unsnap it .25cents for the snap and fixed in 5 minutes. Softopper did warranty a window that broke in cold weather and sent me a new one immediately there have no issiues with the windows since. I would buy another Softopper if this one wears out.

south west, very dry and very very hot in the summer, hasn't faded, which is remarkable considering 350 days of sun/yr. all around exceptionally impressed. I will buy again, no question.

From what you guys are saying I'm reasonably assured that the softtopper will put up with Oregon weather.

Now one more question: What about washes? Can you leave them up when you go through a car wash? One of the reasons I'm getting a truck is so that I wont have to stress about washing as often, or as well, as my current sedan. I know automatic washes are not great for the paint, but after a year or so I plan to excusively use them to wash my truck. What do you guys do?

Not sure how long the warranty period is, it should be on there website. I can say they took care of rear window I cracked with no issues or hassles and had great customer service.

I have never taken mine through an automatic carwash, they are tough but I wouldn't try it.

i wouldn't run it thru a washer either...but that shouldn't be your deciding factor, if it really is, buy a regular top. it takes a minute to lower it and about 5 minutes to proper hose off salt and cinder and treat once dry.

I'm torn between this and a regular topper. Benefits to the hard top are a roof rack, but of course for me to catch one at a soft top price I'll have to scour craigslist a while.

    Hey buddy,
Nice to find you here. Thought you drove a taco, well anyways next ride I meet with you guys I hope you have your topper on so I can check it out. I'm quite intrested in it. I like the idea of not getting my stuff all dusty and dirty going to a camp site.

I'm still considering one of these. Only downside I can see is inability to take it through a carwash. but i suppose that isnt the worst thing in the world. I'll probably rock the truck without a top for a few months and see how that is, then decide.

Can you say more about your "doggy door"....do you have pics?

Does anyone have the cap rack? I'm curious to know if the addition of the rack causes leaking around the rails?

I've had my softopper for about a month now and absolutely love it! I hand wash my truck so there's no downsides for me. If your thinking about getting one DO IT!
