Very interested. Planning on getting a Softopper for my 3rd gen access cab towards spring time for camping.

Bestop's "supertop" is available for 2016s. About $600.

Nice... I'll have to do my homework and see how the second gen boys liked it.

I'm waiting on Can-Back to release theirs for the 2016. I had one on my first gen about 11 years ago and it was very well made.

I'd pay the little extra for a Softopper over Bestop any day. Of course it comes down to opinion. In the end I wound up with what I thought was the better product and got myself a Softopper. The price of a Can-Back completely eliminated it from being an option for me personally.

What's the pros/cons between Can-Back and soft topper? Is the Can-Back a little better and more expensive or marginally better or same?

Is Can-back still around? I thought they went out of business... Unless I am thinking of someone else.

Is the Can-Back foldable like a softopper? I checked it on the website but it doesn't show it...

If they don't fold the usability just isn't there for me and at the same price as a hard cap I couldn't justify a Can-Back.

It lines up well and there isn't much overhang. There's about an inch of flat tailgate at the top and it lines up pretty exact with that. I installed my topper according to the directions so all this should be fairly standard. The only thing I can see that would change the position of the back flap would be the crossbar position. You can insert the crossbar to curve in or out. I have the crossbar curved out. With such a minor overhang it's not necessary to install the velcro to keep the flap in place but I might look into something for paint protection on that top inch or so of the tailgate.

I've been very happy with Softoppers. I got lucky and the one from my old GMC Canyon fit on my 3rd gen with the only modification being a new set of clamps. It isn't perfect, but its pretty damned good.

@DelRioTaco do you have a picture of the whole truck with the soft topper on? Looks great as it is.

Here's the best shot I have. The right Softopper probably looks better.

Can anyone tell me if these soft toppers are easy to completely remove from the bed and allow for the foldable bed cover to be put back on? I won't need the soft topper very often and would like to leave to foldable cover on the bed 90 percent of the time.
