My old Toytec lift was harsh with 700lb springs and an AAL. New leaf pack and went to Fox DSC and I am stoked on the ride on and off road. Soaks up the bumps like crazy. The adjusters are legit once you figure out the right settings. Cost a lot of money to figure it out though. Buy once cry once seems to be the motto. Ha

Don’t know if anyone said this. Icon, bilstein and some other shocks are digressive…so they are pretty stiff untill you hit a big bump, and that’s when they comply.

fox, kings and some others are progressive. So they are soft and get firmer as the shock compresses.

mind you, it also matters what spring rate and how much preload you have. I had bilstein 6112 with 650lbs springs on the highest setting. Truck was pretty stiff for me.

I installed 600lbs springs on the 2/3 setting and it got better. More softer.

I’m waiting untill my bilstein fail, and I want to try fox shocks. I hope they will ride softer on the road….they pretty expensive

If you are on E rated tires (KO2s or similar) that will contribute to your stiff ride as well. What tires are you rolling on and at what pressure?

@rnish asked earlier and OP never responded so I'm asking again.

Some things might be overlooked here: please post a part number found on your Icon springs, how much thread is showing on your coil over, measured in inches, what tire rating are you running, and what your tire pressure is. After I get that info I can help you out here.

You should be on a 600lb spring, however Icon notoriously uses a 13” spring whereas King and Fox use a 14” 600lb spring. King valving with the external reservoirs rides excellent on a stock 3rd gen at about 2.75” of lift. If you are on C loads with no extra weight try 35 psi, E loads 32 psi.

Lift, wheels, tires, sliders, and skidplates...so far.
I'd recommend upgrading the shocks to something revalved by Accutune. They know their stuff.
