    Hey all,

New to the community. My truck is being built the first week of December and I am looking into getting a Softopper. It is a 2022 Trail Edition. I looked pretty hard to find an answer to this question and could not find it: Will the Softopper fit on the Trail Edition with the storage boxes installed? Any help very much appreciated. And I am sorry if this has been answered and I cannot find it.

    Thanks!

    Yep. No issues.

    Edit:

    Actually I retract my statement.

Looks like the frame of the Softopper may interfere with the boxes while down. Looks like it could be close.

I still imagine it would work however.

Does anyone have a Trail Edition with the Softopper installed? Maybe even pictures?

Might be though to find that combo. There aren't many Trails out there.

You're better off finding the measurements. How far the frame extends past the top of the bed when retracted and how much below the top of the bed the boxes are. That looks like the only interference.

Did it fit? I have a 23 Trail and I just ordered the softopper. Hoping it works without taking the boxes out.

I don't have a trail but the softopper pivot hangs about 1"-1.5" below the rail. If you ever wanted to fold it up, it wouldn't work. And may not work without modification to the box. But I guess you're about to find out.

& i can only imagine that try’n to get into those boxes might be kinda cumbersome unless in Safari mode, can’t remember which way they open. I went with the Big Rubbermaid box in mine, even before Softopper it works good & will still fit in cab wit seats folded down if need’s be.

Well, I made it work with the boxes... I had to cut into them little slots but the things I store in them are so large you can't reach in and grab them through the slot anyway. It was either take them out and not have them at all or keep them there and modify them.

Do you have any pictures of the cuts you made? and after a few years did you end up just taking them out?

Well I got rear ended and it was totaled not long after. I'm in a 4th Gen TRD OR Premium Package now.

    Here are the pics though
