I'm not interested in the KB outboard mounts, but whats your overall impression on running your bikes on an outboard mount? I have Yakima frontloaders that I'd like to use, mounted to some custom fab'd outboard mounts (much like pieces of crossbar sticking off a bed rack), but they're also fairly large as you know, so not sure it'd be worth it. Anything to be super aware of if going the outboard route?

I love it, sometimes getting out of the truck one of the kids forgets it's there and almost walks into it. But other than that it's amazing. I have one for both sides

since you've used both, as far as stability/reliability goes, location mounted aside, do you trust your bike more in a yakima frontloader or the fork mount with rear tray strap?

Front loader was rear strap as well, but it's probably safer on the front loader. I have a whole Yakima Jetstream System all new in boxes I will put on this summer
