Really well actually, I was quite surprised. It’s been raining here in salt lake the last few days. Rain has only gotten in on the corners by the cabin where it’s not really sealed to anything. Could be easily fixed by adding some Velcro. Does well at highway speeds too.

We have two standard poodles and they are back there year round. They love it. I've put their beds in the back and driven round trip between Colorado to Ohio in the winter w/ the toper fully zipped up w/o any issues.

Slight blind spot cause there is no window on the sides, but it isn’t really an issue cause you can always use your mirrors

Thanks. A big reason I ended up going w/ this topper was because of the dogs. I can roll up the sides like a bikini top on a Jeep so they get some good shade when riding in the back. All in all I just like the versatility of it. Depending on your use case you can run it in a few different configurations and it comes off in minutes when you don't need/want it on.

Yeah I actually had to move a couch the other day and it was pretty easier to remove and put back on.

They sell insulated kennel covers as well as DC powered fans you can hook up in summer time.

I have a softopper and we rarely throw the dog in the back of the truck. The reason I got the softop was I told my wife, "You can have dry gear or a dry dog. You pick" She picked to keep the dog safe and dry in the cab and told me to go ahead and get the softopper. I'd never put my dog in the back of the truck without him being in a kennel that is properly strapped down. I'd never let him be in the back while driving either, specially not on the freeway, regardless if I had softop or not. Fiberglass cab, maybe. That being said, we currently don't have kids and Odin rides in the back seat. With our last long road trip (Over 1 week) we barely had enough room for all our gear even with the back seat and bed full and that trip the dog was in training and not even with us. So I convinced her now we need a prinsu rack and probably a thule box if we plan on doing trips like that with the dog and again eventually if we have kids, same thing.

I don't know your situation, but use it to your advantage to buy gear for the truck. If you have a checks-n-balance system aka warden aka wife. Pull on her emotions to keep the pups safe and don't look back. The softopper is probably my favorite investment into the truck so far.

I’m so conflicted. I want a topper for my pooch, but I’m also afraid for her safety. I was thinking of either buying the largest kennel I can find to let her roam around, OR, transporting her in the cab and letting her in the bed while on trails.

I’ve never had any leakage issues other than where my antenna sticks out of the zipper.
