ECU TSB Update

I just paid $20 to get access to TIS.

There are the following TSB's for 3rd gen Tacoma:

There is no new TSB that covers the 6MT.

MODS!!!

Don't be so quick to assume the OP is trolling. With the recent survey that went out, Toyota IS listening. I got one of those Throttle response and Power surveys as well.

May just not be posted yet. Assuming OP isn't flat out lying there is updated firmware for MT ECUs. That's all that really matters. Just need find a way to get that either from a dealership or from OV Tune.

Here is the TSB number. Just check a 2018 on the lot and show available update.

TSB-0058-18 Rev 1 says AT6 only. I can't post pictures at work but that's what it says right below that picture you posted.

A couple questions for you. What MY is your Taco? And, that TSB is noted for ATs only:

Was it updated to add MTs from what you are seeing?

We were led to believe that MTs had different ECUs than ATs.

Is it possible to put AT firmware on an MT ECU? Lol. I wonder if that's what he did.

 

Can we just chill on the witch hunt for now. @Ruggybuggy appears to be a Toyota mechanic, and doesn't appear to have a reason to lie. Time is our friend, as some of us have already been waiting for 2+ years for this. Be patient.

 

Spelling mistake on my. The update cover the MT. It comes up when you do a health check on available updates.

 

I really don't give a rat's ass if you believe me or not. The tsb does included the mt. If you had any kind of knowledge on how the techstream worked we won't be having this conversation.

Awesome. It will just take a bit more an ask at the dealer. Mine seemed receptive to this in the past.

 

Hm. Hopefully someone can get the firmware to OVTune so it can be distributed. Sounds like maybe they updated the MT firmware alongside the AT firmware but then restricted the fix to ATs in the TSB. I'm not sure why they would do that.

 

The TSB might also have been revised to add MTs? Rev 2 versus Rev 1 that has been posted on TW?

 

I don't mean offense by doubting you, it's just that there's a difference between what you're saying and what the TSB is saying. I've got to get my oil changed this month so I'll push my service advisor to get this update done then, if nobody else has had success.

 

Rev1 came out July 31 so that's probably the most recent, ruggybubby's picture is Rev1 as well.
