Thanks! Are you happy with the spot for this? I was thinking of running Baja S2 Pro combos in clear.

So let me bring this page back to life some and ask the ones who installed these.....still work, any problems, any unusual wear or tear?! Looking to get these since there is no drilling required. Huge plus. But i want to hear some longevity storys first! TIA!!!

Installed the sokietech struts a couple weeks ago and already noticed some flex when closing the hood on the lower bolts. I really didn’t like that the drivers side using the grounding location. Sheet metal is fine but I went ahead and just removed them for piece mind. Ordered the redline tuning elites and putting them this weekend instead.

Not sure if you’re the same person in the TacomaWorld FB page but as I stated there, I have had these installed since December 2020. I don’t open my hood much but absolutely no issues since installing them. I think if you were opening your hood very frequently the flex might be a concern? But the trade off of a no-drill solution, especially for me not getting under the hood much, is worth it. My biggest issue with the other kits is that they require rivets which would be an absolute nightmare to remove.

I am not. Facebook is the cesspool a meeting place of the worlds most ignorant and uneducated folk this planet has to offer......nonetheless, i dont open the hood frequently, just want the times that i do, to be as easy and carefree as possible.

Why would you remove them ? I have Redlines and open my hood about every week. No issues just glad I did it.

That’s exactly my use case. This kit is doing the trick for me. I’m always so giddy when I open the hood and realize/remember the hood struts. Definitely makes it much easier to deal with engine work.

It’s more if you have to remove it (for whatever reason) or have an issue. Rivets are a PITA to deal with. That was the primary reason I stayed clear.

They're pretty easy to remove. Grab a 3/16" drill bit, and drill the center of the pop rivet top hat. The hole at the top acts as a guide, and as soon as you drill through the aluminum top hat, it comes right off. Easy peasy.

I've had the solkie tech ones since July 2020 when I got my truck. I've have no issues with them. I only open my hood like once a month to check the oil and washer fluids or when I change the oil or do routine maintenance. I have no reason to open the hood every day or week it's a Toyota after all its not a Ford.
They sure make the heavy hood easier to handle not that it was a problem as I'm a big boy but I'm not getting younger. Plus it lifts it a bit higher than the prop rod.

Had mine installed since 2021, open hood at least monthly to check, no problems and actually forget that they are there.

Stock with a camper shell for now.
Since it’s been a couple years since the install, has there been any issues with these good struts for the few that have used and installed them? I’m looking at getting some.

All the naysayers that don't have them. How can you judge a product you haven't tried? "Oh, they will bend the hood" "The struts will corrode"
    Give me a break.
I put mine on 2 years ago with zero issues.
Easy install. No different in operation than ones costing twice the price that require drilling.

Had mine on since 2021 with no issues. Open the hood a minimum of twice a month to change the batteries in my rodent repellents.
