TacoDell, I'm guessing you took these shots through a welding hood also? I like the green touch it gave off.

Yea man no doubt! Especially if you were around the STG area too! Sucks that you didn't have a better camera to snap some shots.

We were in Chula Vista today for a birthday party (Josh) and just as the eclipse became as full as it was going to get (about 6:30) a cloud came in front of the sun which made a perfect filter! We were also watching a live web cam feed from Area 51 (Rickey.org) where the moon went totally inside the sun for the ring affect.
Here are 4 photos from my phone camera:

Well done, all. My wife and I were out on a levee in the Delta (Sacramento) lamenting that 1. I had nto had enough forethought to go get welding glasses and 2. we had not had enough forethought to go camping at Lassen NP, a couple hours north, where it would have been 100% and excellent vis.

But we eneded up in a spot where one other guy was watching it with his son. And he was a welder. With a mask. Awesome! We shared beers!

Stepdaughter swears they got a picture of the ring through welding glasses.

They live in Madison WI :D

It was 8:30pm by the time the ring formed.

I don't know what they got a picture of, but I know what it was not.

Dude... you can severely fuck up your retinas from looking at the sun/eclipse for periods of time. The IR wavelengths are brutal for your eyes.

Anywhoo... here's one with my iPhone through a welder's mask insert
