Lol they made all they would sell. They only make a few of some colors because only a few like them.
There is a difference between your solar octane, and a Ferrari red. One is rare. The other one is just a color a few people like.

    /derailing.

We were talking about the long final drive of the new tundra 3.31 and the mustang fox got dragged into the conversation.

Some fox body mustangs had 2.73:1 its crazy to think of how much they tried to fix the fuel consumption with axles, and now a towing truck is back to low ratios. More gears must be the reasoning.

The 5.7 tundra and 3.5 tacoma has 4.3 as a reference.

2.73 was the default for 87-93 LX and GT 5.0. Only the 93 Cobras got 3.27. Not sure about SSP models.

    3.08 was perfect.

My car at least had optional 3.08's, felt ok in stock form but l put 3.55's in. You are probably right that with all the extra gears they can afford to go with a steeper gear.

They drive like slugs with 35's or 37's. Even with hybrid boost. I imagine 4th gen taco will feel the same with bigger tires.

    Damn EPA.

Mustangs truly benefit from shorter rear ends. Guy at work did 3.55s and now is going 4.11s this summer.

I am sure 4.11's will really wake it up!

I haven’t seen a single solar octane Tacoma in Canada, I even had to Google the color to see what it was. I’ve seen that color on a few Tundras.

but if all ferrari's are red, does that really make them all rare?

i would argue that if 5,000 pro's are built, solar octane is going to be some sort of fraction of that quantity, but even at 75% of the 5,000 pro's, it's still probably more rare than ferrari red...

I despise Ferrari's sales practices. Any manufacturer that makes you buy a lower model of theirs you don't want before you can buy the more expensive model you really want has a stick so far up their rear end it's out their nose. Jay Leno had a few choice words about Ferrari too.

Another rant, I don't know what Toyota was thinking with their new Terracotta color. Of all the shades of colors they could pick they settled for orange poop. Absolute fuglyness.

I would say any manual pro at least in my area is rare. Hell any manual tacoma in general around here is rare. I wouldn't have bought a taco with an auto, I've spent enough time in my brothers to know they are flawed.

Do i care that my truck is or isn't rare, not really. I do however enjoy when people ask how the hell I found a 23 manual solar octane pro. :canada:
