    Ello everyone,
For those with 3rd Gen solar setups.
I have 2 100w solar panels, renogy rego 104ah slim battery? And a victron 100/30 MPPT Controller. My plan was to setup the battery and controller behind the rear seats. Currently keep some random junk back there. Extra oil filter, oil, jumper cables, gas transfer hose, straps, first aid kit, shop towels. Just junk.
Anyways, was going to move stuff and throw controller and battery there. Run wires behind the rear seat panel, underneath to one of the grommets, under the truck and to the bed, above the 400w connection for a 12v panel I installed yesterday. Then somehow figure out where the wires will run for the solar.
Now I'm wondering if I should instead mount those things at the back of the bed against the cab, on a piece of plywood. Am hopefully getting a cap in the next month or 2. And then a RTT.
This would make running wires all that much easier, and I wouldn't have to fish wires behind panels and grommets, and drilling holes.
I'm thinking perhaps I'd rather have emergency equipment in the back of the cab behind the seats, instead of things that I won't really be needing to get to much for any reason once installed.
    Thoughts?
    I've got a 21 Off-road.

Also I do currently have a good solar panel from cascadia which I installed recently, and the controller and a fuze block are under the hood already. And I don't care much to throw second controller under there, and that battery is not really for there either.

    Here's the battery in question.

I guess as long as everything is protected from the weather (including direct sun), it shouldn't matter where you mount things.

I saw this and was inspired, and considering I'm not going to be sleeping in the bed, but will eventually have a drawer type kitchen. I think it seems like the right choice.

I got stuff mounted in the back. Works great. Now I have to figure out how to mount the panels. I was thinking of having them on adjustable brackets, so I can tilt them. Perhaps on gas struts. Don't know yet. Otherwise the rest works great!

I got the battery charged up, started at about 70% and got it fully charged in a little under 3 hours. With 2 panels in parallel laying flat on the roof I was getting about 125-130 watts but tilting them slightly bumped it up. Pretty happy. Runs the fridge no problem.
I'd like to design some custom brackets for the solar panels which allow them to told that much. Was thinking 4 way gas pistons, and just have some locking mechanisms. That way if I park somewhere and I can't have them directed at the sun, I can tilt them easily.
Otherwise happy. Waiting on RTT and Cap.
