    Hi everyone!

I'm sure there is a thread somewhere relating to solar panels on a Tacoma, but I'm wanting to get your thoughts on my plans.

Basically the plan is traditional, build an isolated (standard) solar setup, with batteries in parallel to an inverter within the cab. However, I'm wanting to add an addressable rocker in line so the panels can also act as a battery charger for the tacoma's primary battery.

Here's a preliminary (Ghetto) schematic I have so far, but what do you guys think?

I would plug the inverter off the house battery along with accessories. This way you have one battery for starting the vehicle and everything else runs off the second house battery.

The stuff I’ve read says don’t put the inverter on the load circuit of a charge /solar controller

I've also been considering a solar setup, but only in the thinking about it stage at this time. Will be watching to see how it goes!

@riz_atx I would be planning accessories (and the 120 inverter) off the solar system Batts, you're saying to tie in the Inverter to the Main batt that cranks the truck?

Oh!! This makes sense to me now. Is the common bus bar good practice, or a required bit?

Is there a rocker that would let me switch from piping the panels to the starter and the house? rather than an "On/off"?
