Still can do it but its going to take lots of re-wiring. I did a non-JBL head unit to my JBL truck pain in the ass.

I currently have a 2013 JBL/navi XM unit. Would this be a direct plug and play with no mods need to make every thing work with my 2013 JBL? The steering wheel controls do look different between the 13 and 14. what would be the difference between having different steering wheel controls as far as functions ?

 

What choppersx said, wiring will be extensive and just a plain p.i.t.a. because of all the re-wiring . . .

 

From what various knowledgeable posters have said above, it sounds
like trying to use this on a non-JBL truck is not going to be strictly
plug-and-play.

I have no idea what is required and just how much of a PITA it would be
to make it work on a non-JBL truck.

 

Yes, steering wheel layout is different but the wiring is the same, the plug at the back of the unit is the same as your 13 . . .

 

I've added a pic of the back in case that helps anybody.
