(Sold) 2nd gen retrofit headlights

For sale are a set of Retrofit Headlights for a 2008 Tacoma (will fit other years as well). These are aftermarket blacked-out housings with FX-R projectors and panamera shrouds. They do need new bulbs/ballasts. I removed them because i started having poor light output (dim) and didn't have time to mess with them. My thought is that they probably just needed new bulbs or ballasts to work great again, but I traded in the truck before I had a chance to really get into them. They were perfect headlights for several years before. Spent about $800 building these, so they are a great deal if you are looking to upgrade to projectors without starting from scratch. $200 Local only for now.

 

How much and how hard is it to replace the bulbs?

 

interested.....but same question. how do we know what kind of bulb/ballast fits in them and then the question of light output and brand etc.
definitely interested though.

Thanks for the post... They are D2S bulbs, so it would be just like adding a set of HID's to your stock truck, except that these are true retrofit projectors, so you get the proper light cutoff and won't blind people. I used bulbs and ballasts from the retrofit source originally, and had many years of luck with them, but any D2S size bulbs and ballasts would work.

I received the headlights today and they look like shit. I originally asked what shape they're in specifically the lenses, you stated regular wear and tear. They have the clear coat peeling on all corners, the shroud is loose within the housing, the lense for the blinker is detached and there is a crack in the housing. Headlights were loose in a large flimsy box. WTF dude? I wasn't expecting brand new oem headlights. But you could have mentioned the peeling lenses. I'm also pretty sure they weren't as fucked up when you shipped them originally but you made no effort what so ever to protect them in packaging. Now I'm stuck with basically just some fx3 projectors that I'll have to hack out of the housing that I paid 275 dollars for. I think it would be fair to get $100 back.
