    Selling my Alucab canopy for a long bed Tacoma. This is the updated 3rd Gen version which fits correctly. No issues, perfect condition all doors work properly and I have all the keys. I purchased this new from OK4WD. I am only selling due to truck changes and no longer running the canopy. I live in the Pan Handle of West Virginia. I am near VA, PA, MD and not far from most East Coast states. If needed, we can meet at a reasonable difference for the sale. I have a trailer to haul it on so no issues there. $2100 OBO, I am selling, therefore this is negotiable, shoot me an offer I will not be offended. In addition, I have a Front Runner slim line 2 roof rack (not included in price) however if you are interested we can discuss this as well. Send me a PM or post here with any questions.

    Thanks Scott

    Thanks, I am not using it so trying to sell it to someone who can use it. I put a tonneau back on for now, keeping it light. :thumbsup:

    I am debating between a RSI cap and Alucab cap.....

    What's the water/dust intrusion like? Where there places around the bed that you had to fill to keep water/dust out?

    The Alucab is like any other Canopy for dust. You have to seal it and anyone who says different is pretty much full of it, there are none 100% sealed. I added the tailgate seal and also sealed with extra silicone around corners etc. I did not have any issue after that. I used to sleep in the back when I went camping.

    @amudie

    The problem with the Tacoma’s is the gaps on the left and right side of the bulkhead closest to the cab. Once you seal those up it’s pretty good as far as water intrusion. Also keep in mind underneath the Plastic caps that runs along the left and right side of the top of bed there are about 20 holes on each side that the cap clip into. Then there is drain holes in the little cubby boxes in the that will also will allow dust to get in. There are two 6 to 7 inch long gaps at the back of your bed on the left and right side. And then finally you have the two drain holes underneath the bulkhead in the floor.

    This is what I used under the bed rail. I got it at Home Depot for like $5 for a roll. It’s super thin and very sticky it’s Also flexible. It’s pretty cold here on the East Coast so what I did was took a torch and very lightly heated the top of bed so that the adhesive would take better. Then after it was applied I took a razor knife and cut just a small enough hole so when I put the cap back on the clips would go through it. Also before I put the cap back on I ran two to three lines of Permatex On top of the rubber tape on each side. I went to advance auto and found a caulk tube size of it for $20. I went with the very flexible permatex. It’s your choice but I also removed the bulkhead rail and applied three or four lines of Permatex under there also. And for the left and right corner where the gaps are behind the cab I used some duck seal also in the gaps also Got it from Home Depot. I slid the end caps out until they touched the side. Then then jammed the duct seal up in the hole from underneath. Then I ran some Permatex over it all for extra measure. Don’t remember if I read it here or over at Tacoma World but take a flashlight and laid on your bulkhead corners if you can see light coming in that means dust and water will get in. There is also 2 1/4inch gaps at the back of your bed on the floor you may want to fill those too. In the picture with the stiffeners you can see the Permatex in the corners. And then finally you have your little box cubbies in the bed you may want to seal up too. Also invest in a set of bed stiffeners to prevent your bedside from bowing out once you get your camper on your truck. I went with the total chaos stiffeners because they come all the way up to the top rail the other ones on the market only come only halfway up the side.

    Amazing deal. If this was for short bed it’d be sold. And there would be an ARE Overland shell up for grabs.

    So this would fit a 6” bed of a 2nd Gen also right?

    Or just 3rd Gen specific?

    A quick google search turned this up in another thread for one that was for sale..................

    Note the bed sizing isn’t generation cross compatible for the AluCab canopies - this is for 3rd Gen
