2nd gen TPMS sensors definitely won’t work on a 3rd gen, but it’s no big deal to have the bead broken and sensors swapped. No need to completely dismount. No need to balance as long as you’re taking sensors out and installing different sensors. As long as your 3rd gen has aluminum wheel sensors, they’ll work just fine in these wheels.

 

A friend of mine has an Autel device and he is sure he can read the codes from the 2nd gen sensors and transfer them to the 3rd gen trucks ECM. He has never tried it though.

The reason for asking is I would like to just swap my OEM setup for these right in my driveway and not pay to have them broken down and remounted.

My OEM wheels are 2019 TRD Pro wheels so swapping them shouldn't be an issue if it comes down to it.
