    Hey TW,

Up for sale is my aluminum cap for a 3rd gen long bed. There is a bit of a story to this one so let me explain :)

I purchased the cap in December of 2023 from the original owner, the cap was made in 2020.

The brand is Unicover. It has a fixed front window by the cab, a sliding window on both sides and of course the rear window hatch.

When I bought the cap I replaced both locks (with covers to keep dust and ice from getting in the key holes) and the weather stripping along the bottom where the cap contacts the bed. I also replaced 4 of the 6 clamps that hold the cap to the bed rails as they seemed to be cross threaded. So now all 6 clamps are very smooth.

I added led light strips inside to help illuminate gear in addition to the OEM bed lights on the truck. I found it was nice to have light up top as well. The led light strips are actually RGB so you can change the color to whatever you want.

It's actually a white cap, but I wrapped it black with 3M 2080 gloss black wrap. I am not a professional wrapper, but I did wrap my whole truck previously so I have some experience. It turned out pretty good in my opinion. If you want it white again you could pull the wrap off pretty easily.

I added some aluminum brackets to the front of the cap to mount MaxTrax (not included). The brackets are attached with nutserts so you could easily remove them for better visibility if you want. Again, brackets are included, maxtrax are not.

It's a little dirty in the pictures but overall the condition is pretty good I would say. I haven't had it for a super long time but there have been a few pretty good rain storms and it has been dry in the bed.

I was told by the original owner that this cap was about $1,300 new but I have not fact checked him.

I'd like to get $600 for it (essentially 50% what it was new and the wrap, locks, weatherstripping, led strips, and maxtrax brackets are a bonus)

Im located in Naperville, IL and I work near O'hear airport.

*** I was given permission from the staff here at TW to post this before having removed it from my truck as I do not have space to store this off my truck ***

A buddy of mine was nice enough to let me wrap the cap in his heated garage in January, here are a couple more pictures I took just after wrapping:

The rear window has wrap on the glass as well. My intention was to wrap all the glass but I ran out of material. The thought was I personally wanted to cover the glass for security/privacy reasons, but the next owner could easily pull it off if they wanted functioning windows again.
