If you don't know about these already, here is the thread:

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...-2-1-4-diameter-utilizes-factory-boot.534205/

Mine is from @Grossomotto who I believe purchased new and never installed. I've used it lightly and tried to polish a bit with a purple 3m pad as suggested by Rick, also used some Gord's polish, net effect is I likely introduced more scratches than I removed.

The collar is from a SS knob I purchased, which was also never installed. It's an aluminum collar and the PO did some red crayon in the TRD so it looks pretty sick. A similar treatment to the pattern on the knob itself could be even more awesome but you'd want to try to color match the crayon. I also have a spare black Delerin collar if you must black that but I think the Al collar makes the most sense with an Al knob and this is the only Al knob I possess.

@7r41lbr34k3r is the man who made this and it's his baby. I have much love for both the man and his creations.

But, my wife had a meltdown about it since I installed it on my 5 speed 2005 which has a different pattern. She tried to borrow it and couldn't get it out of the driveway, just smoked some clutch and got super frustrated. I got lucky and I've traded out for a knob without a pattern which I've since installed. I also got a stick on decal for the 5 speed pattern. So I feel a lot better about things with my '05 in that regard.

Price is fixed at $150 because it's not cool to profit off Rick's work. Instead, I'm going to sell it at that fixed price to whoever demonstrates the most interest. Your profile must indicate you own a 6MT to purchase, anyone without a verified 6MT Tacoma is not eligible because if you were married to my wife, you too would be in the doghouse.

    How do you demonstrate interest?

    1. You get one point for linking to another thread where you've tried to purchase one of these knobs and lost out.
    2. You get one point for linking to another thread where you DM'd the OP to purchase and lost out (OP must verify these posts)
    3. You get a max of one point for a post in this thread which meets any of the following criteria
      1. Post is entertaining, amusing, creative, or thoughtful in a unique way (I am the judge)
      2. Post indicates love of MT, Rick, knobs, or anything indicative of emotion / devotion to metal of any sort
      3. You make me smile or LOL
      4. You do 3 for someone I like who vouches for you as a good guy even if I didn't find it funny
So, I think 3 points is the clear winner and if not then I'll just do a lottery of the 2's or maybe 1's if nobody really gets to 2 points.

From the most recent thread by @BAsTRD, these guys might be interested: @patfl1 @c_walters @BlarBlarjosh @NomadicCypress

Deadline for all entries is Halloween.

I would’ve been all over this 2 days ago, but I found an acceptable substitute and installed it today. Congrats to whomever ends up with it!

I've got a aluminum version from the 1st batch, and a S/S from the final batch. Wish I could have gotten a Ti version for the Hat Trick. These knobs really are a work of art. I hope whoever "wins" it, appreciates the craftsmanship.

    Hopefully I understood the assignment here;

    1. Alright so you’ve taken care of number 1 for me :)

    2. I think this and the first one I commented on are the only two I’ve come across that didn’t sell in 10 minutes so I’ll have to forfeit this one.

3.2 - I love M/T tacos so much so that I’ve owned 4 of them in the last year. Things just kind of…spiraled out of control. Luckily I only lost money jumping from the sport to the pro and the pro to pro was essentially an even trade. 21 MGM Off Road > 22 Lunar Rock Sport > 22 MBM TRD Pro > 22 MGM TRD Pro.

3.3 - My 4 month old puppy doesn’t get to ride in the front seat of the Tacoma anymore because he thinks the leather off road shift knob is a delicious chew toy.

3.4 - I’m fortunate enough to have @tonered be good buddy of mine and can vouch for me that I’m not a complete weirdo (or maybe not). He’s been my M/T guru with helping me with various tunes over the years and the ADM.

Does having a 1st gen manual taco many moons ago get any other credit? This was what brought me to TW all those years ago…ED0EB25B-15A8-49CC-8A93-A9ABECDC4A2C.jpg

How about another manual Toyota pickup build I did a few years ago?

Gotta love a whole dog and pony show just to buy a shift knob. Best of luck to whomever participates and hopefully they get the knob of their dreams.

I could throw in a 4th category of 1 point per every 10 years of TW membership or something? I dunno. Tough to come up with a fair way to allocate at a fixed price that multiple people would be happy to pay.

Maybe after Halloween I'll take votes from the audience on who it should go to?

Just really trying to do something other than the first-come-first-served with this one to serve the deserving under-served :)

Please feel free to toss your hat in the ring, you qualify and you've contributed to this forum in a significant way.

We could maybe do a runoff of most deserving and either go random lottery or have you guys guess a number only I would know and take closest to the pin or ....

But, yeah, I'm making it a bit of an unnecessary dog and pony show, that's the downside.

I think it’s fun and different, if my comment came off as negative I didn’t intend so. I just find it amusing is all. :)

I really do wish the best of luck to whoever wants this. If my truck wasn’t just a trail truck and instead was my nice and comfortable daily driver, I would be much more likely to want a nice shift knob.

Bump for exposure if anyone wants in. Looks like a pretty small group of candidates at this point.

David, I'll play along despite the fact that I have zero chance of winning, lol. I can potentially hit #3 for you with a semi-amusing photo of my baby pup and a little Aloha (thought you might appreciate that...no luck on any OEM wheels yet).

    Lula Bear Rainbow.jpg

Great way to give everyone a chance to own one of these! I would love to have another of these fantastic knobs, especially one with the shift pattern. I modified my AT Delrin knob to fit my newly acquired MT (much thanks to @7r41lbr34k3r for the assist). I really hope whoever wins appreciates the work of art they just acquired.

Pic of my modified AT knob installed on my MT for reference:

Not a substitute. Just a settlement. I’ve got one of those grey/gray knobs in a drawer somewhere. Have had two of Ricks, one was a stainless it’s moved to the third owner, second was the aluminum. Sold a set of sliders to someone that had the plastic one. Ricks knobs are nice.

You went from SS to Aluminum? Any particular reason? Weight?
