This is one of the nicest amps I could find for my audio build. It is a 4x125w Amp with fully programable Digital Signal Processor (DSP) via bluetooth or laptop in one. The specs are impressive, like S/N ratio of 102DB. Also includes a quality 4 AWG wiring kit to power the amp.

    Everything is New In Box.

You can read about it from Audio Control here:
    https://www.audiocontrol.com/car-audio/power-amplifiers/d-4800/

    And from Crutchfield here:
    https://www.crutchfield.com/p_161D4800/AudioControl-D-4-800.html?tp=115

Paid over $800 for amp + wiring kit
Selling both combined for $525 shipped USPS

    AudioControl D-4.800 ($769):

I planned for a killer custom audio build, and this amp was extremely impressive across the board so I bought it first. Then I just never bought the rest. Other mods have always taken priority and continue to do so while this has just sat in the closet. More lighting mods, axle swap, big break kit and other custom parts are planned out. I bought my father in law a used MacBook and rationalized I could sell that amp sitting in the closet collecting dust to cover the cost.

I did help a friend install the same amp who was copying my planned build, and wow the DSP customization is crazy slick. He also blew up on of his Rockford Fosgate Power speakers... so the amp has some power to spare.

For a brand new never used unit with wiring, this is hard to beat guys. If I needed a 4 channel amp with DSP, I would have bought this already.

Audio Control stuff is top notch. A great way to power and tune your system while allowing you to keep your stock head unit since it has a DSP.

For the benefit of those of us who don’t know anything about this stuff, what else would I need with this? I listen to a lot of classical music which has very low lows that I can’t even hear on the OEM stereo. Been looking to up grade to improve quality.

A DSP (Digital Signal Processor) significantly improves the sound quality, especially on the OEM head unit. OEM units typically lose base from the signal as the volume is increased by design as the stock speakers are insufficient to handle it. The DSP allows full customization of the signal to improve the sound and eliminates that issue. Usually a DSP is a separate standalone component, this one is integrated into a high end amp with an outstanding signal to noise ratio (for cleaner sound) and plenty of power at 4x125w RMS. Combining the DSP and amp packages nicely and makes for a simpler install with one component vs multiple. While these are a great upgrade to any build, their big advantage IMO is the ability to build off the OEM headunit, which you wouldn’t otherwise do due to the sound signal quality. Keeping the stock head unit looks cleaner IMO and keeps all the integrated systems working like stock, such as the phone mic, backup camera steering wheel controls ect, plus the stock look is stealthy as a theft deterrent. When I tried an aftermarket head unit, you have to run an aux phone mic as the OEM one in incompatible with aftermarket systems and it didn’t sound nearly as good, the backup camera had a delay going to/from reverse and not all the steering wheel controls worked. If felt unpolished so I went back to stock.

Taco tunes sells the required harnesses for this amp to be plug and play with the factory stereo so no permanent modifications are needed.
    https://*********.com/shop/toyota-tacoma-audio-products/double-cab-audio-products/plug-play-wire-harnesses/tacoma-plug-play-amp-harness-installation-kit/
Edit: for some reason TW seems to obscure direct links to taco tunes, copy the above link and replace the *s in *****.com with taco tunes (no space).

With a significantly improved and more powerful signal, you would then want to select your speakers of choice for your audio upgrade. The stock speakers are also not designed to give good low frequency response or handle the higher power and amp will literally blow up the stock speakers if you turn it up.

I would look into a pair of components for your front speakers and get a sub. You can then power your front stage and sub(s) with this amp/DSP. Depending on your budget, you can do a number of things to your front stage.

Make sure you put in sound deadening as well. This will drastically increase the quality of your music.

To clarify, are you able to use the speaker out RCA connector on this amp to feed signal to a dedicated sub amp, then run front and rear door speakers on this?

Sorry for missing this! It does have RCA lines out that can be used to feed a signal to a sub amp while also powering the front and rear door speakers.
