So we shall see how these handle the winter/offroading. Heard lots of good reviews. By the sound of it they are $50/tire less Goodyear Duratracs

Interested to hear how the 255s worked for you without a re-gear - I am toying with the same idea..... Nice BTW!

so cooper is sold out on the 255s for 6+ weeks. Mavis tire said they could get me some but they ended up not putting the order in, either guy was an idiot or the manager deleted the order when he saw what it was and they decided not to call me. So i went to get my tires installed and they had no record of my order or anything. Was a little annoyed since the guy said they could get them.

So i said screw it and ordered a set of Fierce Attitude MTs from Discount Tire. Keeping the same size I am running right now, 265/75R16s just because I know it works.

From what I hear 255s or 285s for that matter are odd for the 4cyl since you probably should re-gear but doing so is over kill. when the truck stops being my daily driver i will probably re-gear just because of the added armor and such i would plan to add

THanks for the reply. I am kinda of in the same spot. Would love 255s, but a regear is pricey and I would rather put the money into high end suspension. Prob go with 265s, and someday a re-gear. WE'll see in a few weeks when I order, I change my mind every ten minutes.

nooo problem. yeah i'd put the lockers in when re-gearing so before you know it theres $3k just in axle parts. I have a lot into the suspension but i think its where i want it right now. dont want to go to high. kind of like the low look, and keeps me from getting into to much trouble with it. gearing and lockers will probably be the last thing i do

Ever think of going 235s? Same diameter as the 265 but thinner

Yup, that's what I went with for my 4cyl. 235/85r16 Cooper AT3. So far no complaints, they ride smooth and fill up the wheel wells. Minimal loss of power and mileage once I found the right tire pressure.

only problem with them was only comes in E-Rated. Granted the ones i just got are E-Rated but i am just using them for wheeling/winter. Think for my summer set I am just gonna keep to P-Rated for weight. When i had my stock 245s I want to say my best MPG was around 22 or so. With the Hankooks in 265 I could squeeze 23 or so and avg around 21. My cooper Atp's in P-Rated can also get 23 if i watch it, but i have been constant 20mpg avg since i have owned them. but anything over 60mph and fuel economy tanks and end up around 20-21 when i do 70mph.

During hunting season most of the spots I hunt require 4wd to get to. No serious wheeling, but steep river crossings along with rutted out clay logging roads, etc. I've had the AT3s in the past and their off road performance and on street manners impressed me. I haven't had much time to test the waters with this new size, but with hunting season starting now I'll be putting them through their paces.

Leveled the front up over the weekend. Driver front coil sagged quite a bit. Might need some more tunning. But at least it fixed the alignment haha. New tires are going on at the end of the month

So the Coopers wore out like no body's business 30k on them and all of the sipping was gone... made some interesting wet road driving.
Pulled the trigger and got some 265/75R16 Goodyear Fierce MTs. Ran 700 miles on them from NY to Michigan Last Night. Have to say pretty impressed so far. Going to clean up my stock rims with the old Hankooks to run till snow actually falls since they have some more life left on them.

Started messing around with some editing. Thought I'd share since it came out pretty sick to me!
