    yep..
Well I guess I'm screwed. Tire Warehouse broke one of the cams off the sleeve. Haddad is saying that they need to foot the bill for 2 new LCAs and hardware + labor. $1400. Or rebuild everything $1200 . Everything is seized up.

Honestly I would feel like a dick trying to lay this preexisting problem on tire warehouse. Don't see how they should pay for new LCAs. Just priced out the parts myself and came out to ~$600 and will do the install myself. OUCH!! I don't have time to rebuild the current ones with new bushings and whatnot, just need the truck right ASAP!

Ouch!! Fuck yeah was kind of worried about that. Sears broke one of my brothers alignment bolts and they were good about it and replaced it for free. So bummed Sears closed up in Pittsfield.
So I would bring that quote and pics to Tire Warehouse and see what they say. Like the bushings could have been seeized but them incorrectly banging on it def didn’t help.
$1400 from the dealer fully installed actually isn’t bad (expensive yes and would I pay that? No...) but honestly to be quoted that it’s reasonable for what needs to be done.
Now to do this yourself is gonna suck but def doable. Lots of anti seize and maybe a good torch as well. A good breaker fluid is mixing 50% acetone and 50% automatic transmission fluid together. That shit loosens up everything. When you do the install def anti seize everything back up. Will help with alignments going forward. Depending how many miles on your truck I’d give the tie rods a check to to see if they need any attention. But def get all new alignment bolts, that way you can just take a Sawzall and cut that shit right out

Yeah, its too bad about Sears. I've heard a lot of good things about their shop. @DrFunker do you know if those guys are working somewhere else locally?

I just had it apart Saturday when I put the new coils and uca's in, I looked down at the lca's and had a bad feeling about them. I could never get them to drop loose for the no spring compressor method.

Just ordered moog control arms, seems people like them on here. Also ordered OEM hardware and am gonna slather em with grease. I'm not too worried. Sawzall the bolts if needed, crowbar the control arm out. Pop new ones in. Done.

Then off to Drew for the ECGS bushing :burnrubber:

For the bushing toss it in the freezer it should help tapping it in. If possible try to warm up the front diff to.

I think the alignment tech Ken is at the Cole muffler place or Monroe? Right across from Alandale shopping there.

But yeah see if the bolts come out kind of easy, if not sawzall them. Can’t say enough to put the anti seize on. It’s a pain in the ass to find for some reason but get a bottle of it and lather those can bolts up

Happy to say that the Moog LCA comes with the bushings & ball joint installed already. So it's just the hardware to go in. I have some of the copper anti seize, but I may just go wheel bearing grease for better rust protection.

Yeah that's the guy DrFunker mentioned. There is a Monroe across from Allendale, also Mavis down the road 100 yds.

Yeah I’d say stay away from Mavis as much as possible. I’ve never gone to Monroe but if Kens there def would see if you could get him to do it.

Yeah going the fully assembled LCA Route is the way to go since you won’t hane to worry about any pressing in shit and trying to burn out the old stuff. Plus you have nice fresh steel going in. Those control arms take a lot of abuse so nice to swap them out. Give it a coat of paint on them as well to just try and hold off the winter salt for a bit longer to

    who me? :anonymous:

Yeah, Ken is good. They closed up shop before I could get to talk with him.
 Did you set something up with Drew yet?
That would make sense about Ken. I can ask on of the other guys at that Monroe if he is there. Will report back.

I wanna say Ken has a silver Tacoma access cab. Mild lift and such. Cause it was always at Sears other weekend I saw it at Monroe and putting my Sherlock Holmes to use I deduced it was Ken and he started working there
