According to Bully Dogs site, there are no applications for our Tacos.

Has this been tested on a Tacoma 4.0l?

There is, but requires engine mods.

 

According to BD's site, there ARE applications for Tacomas, thru 2014. Obviously, that implies the same for 2015 so, YES, it HAS been tested on Tacoma 4.0L V6 applications.

This is the most prevalent application and, in fact, where I got mine. (Decided to go a different route, so don't need the BD.)

Features vary by vehicle but, in addition to potential ECU tuning/programming, this unit also offers the ability to monitor multiple engine performance parameters via ODBII interface.

 

Hmmm so a 2015 4.0L can get benefits? I wonder if fuel mileage gained is worth it

 

Having not used the device, I can't say exactly what benefits it offers, beyond what BD advertises. Based on BD's claims and user reports, however, it is compatible with 4.0L V6 2nd Gen Tacomas. FWIW, I've seen claims on both sides of the (mileage/performance) equation - some see benefits, some don't. In response to your earlier observation, "Can't believe there is no software upgrades for the Tacos," I understand Toyota is somewhat more "proprietary" than other manufacturers when it comes to their ECU coding.

Based on what I've read, in addition to potential ECU tuning/programming, this unit provides gauges to monitor multiple engine performance parameters and the ability to read/reset check engine codes via ODBII interface. I have no need for either function since I decided to go a different route with the Magnuson supercharger and I already have an Ultragauge with which I'm satisfied.

I'm not sure of his application/plan. He contacted me via my Craigslist ad. I explained it had been bundled with my S/C. He said it would meet his needs.

There are a few used TRD S/C's on the market, he may have found one.

If I was going to buy again, I may have opted out of the BD tuner and went with the Toyota flash. I was told that Magnuson wouldn't honor the warranty without the BD tune. Not sure if that was tru or not.
