What do your guys' trucks cold idle at? Mine is around 1500 cold then drops to 700-800 range when warmed up. I was going to try and do a throttle relearn but wasn't sure if that high of an idle is normal when cold.

It sounds real loud but I think that might also be attributed to my PS pump

IIRC thats about what mine idled at on cold start. First start, it was up above 1k I know that. Then it would settle down to just below. Once it was warm it idled just above 500 I think.

Ok, thanks. I think it just sounds worse because it sounds like a real high idle because of the PS pump.

I'm hoping the new reservoir fixes the issue. Should be here within next couple days, same as the weatherstripping.

Fixed the water leak with the new weatherstripping (water tested, then buttoned all the trim back up), and put on the new PS reservoir with new fluid.

Power steering noise is the same unfortunately so I ordered a pump and new drive belt to throw on while I'm in there. Hopefully this will finally fix it...

I did find the pump online for about $100 cheaper than normal which was nice. I'm going to have one of our techs help me put them on probably next week since Wednesdays are employee night at the shop and I'm not technically allowed to work in there by myself since I'm a writer and not a tech. So with his expertise and the lift, it shouldn't take too long at all. I think I would be able to do it at home by myself but it will probably take a fraction of time to do it on the rack with a master class tech.

So. Noise wasn't even the power steering pump  Should've used my buddy's mechanic's stethoscope before replacing the pump but didn't even think to. We replaced the pump and drive belt, noise was definitely still there. Used the stethoscope and isolated it to the No. 2 upper idler pulley (above tensioner). So I ordered it Wednesday and installed it today.

Truck is FINALLY quiet!!! "Waste" of time and money to put on the reservoir and pump but learned some things about diagnosis, replacement of PS pump, and drive belts/pulleys so not a total waste. Solution was a $50 part and 15 minutes of labor for me to solve it

Old pulley bearing was real crusty, must've gotten a lot of dirt and debris in there over time since the OE bearings are not sealed. I still replaced it with an OE part, and now my truck has a new PS reservoir, pump, drive belt, and idler

I literally haven't offroaded in almost 2.5 years and I get 14 mpg. I love the look of it but that's not enough of a reason to hold onto a vehicle

Most likely going to get a Civic if I like it enough on my test drive this Saturday. Accord was very nice but it's honestly pretty big and a little too much for me, especially when the Civic can be $8-9k cheaper and still has the features like heated seats, remote start, etc.

You can buy the truck and take what you want

Seems like decent reasoning, so long as you dont test drive the Type R lol

Seriously though....that front bumper and headlights are calling my name

I've always admired this build and your attention to detail, will be tough to see somebody buy it and thrash on it...

Hahah nah, most likely gonna be the EX standard or hatchback depending on what I like when I get hands on.

Thanks, I tried to make it nice while I had it but it's just not practical for me anymore.

Test drove Civic and liked it. Reasonable size, technology, features, price, etc.

Hoping to get it within next week or two if the dealer I've been talking to does have the one on the lot that they are showing.

Did state inspection and emissions on the Tacoma today at work though for my records.

If you sell the taco, sell it private. Dealer wont give you crap for it. And if you have usaa, costco, sams, bjs, etc buying service, definitely use them.

Definitely private sale, have to find that right buyer or else the mods decrease value

Using USAA car buying service, I can buy it outright but I’m getting a small loan to build my credit

What you mean about the wipers? Seemed similar to most cars when I was trying them on test drive

dont they have the wipers that meet in the middle and sweep outward? I know some model civics had that. Maybe they changed it.

Yeah, my future FIL's '11 Civic has that style and it's goofy, they changed it to standard style now

Oh shit, things just got real. Thats a family car there. Civics are getting big. Looks like a midsize instead of compact. Looks like the same color as mine. Mine is dark gray metallic.
