Too bad it's a faux ring but still nice to let it stand out to give the illusion of ;)
Has the plasti dip held up really good on the wheels for you?

    Thanks for the help!

Whenever I have had the Plasti-Derp on there, it has held up surprisingly well. The center caps never had any chips and the faux rings would rarely get some chips if I drove on gravel, etc.

No problem! It's a pretty cool product for some uses. It was good for my use since I was never set on how I wanted the wheels to look.

Put in a order for a small sheet of yellow Lamin-X to try out on my Acro fog lights. Pretty reasonable price for the size sheet I got, so I figured why not try it out.

Should have it installed within a week or two.

Let me know how the film does Matt. Mine don't really do so well in fog and I was thinking of selling them off and saving up for a set of the little rigid square amber lights if they'll fit. But a sheet of yellow film sounds a lot cheaper. I only run the lights in foggy weather. Rest of the time I cant even tell they are on with the retros and the lit streets.

Yeah, I usually don't even turn them on even if I have my headlights on, since they are really more like fog lights rather than driving lights, as they are advertised as.

I'll post a review of how they do in just normal driving and hopefully some fog conditions if we have any here. The 8'' x 16'' sheet I got was only $20, so pretty reasonable for just trying the look out.

I was thinking about trying out other lights in their place down the road, but they are decent for now. Did you have any more fogging in the lights or water in the lenses? I remembered you having a little bit that last time I was at your house and I noticed mine have some fogging in the center now.

I had a small amount of fogging in the passenger side one but it disappeared and never came back. Not sure what happened. Maybe high pressure water got in the right spot and crept in or something.

Yeah, mine aren't bad, but it does look like a little bit of water got in there somehow.

How's the recovery going by the way?

Also just picked up a Cobra 18WXSTII CB for a whopping total of $8 from a friend at the firehouse. Tested it out and it works, so a good deal for a CB that is usually in the range of $60-$100.

Never planned on getting one, but I figured this was too good a deal to pass up for a CB I could use on trails, etc.

You will DIY the hoops later? Or order them separately from DO and add them later? Make sure the headlight hoops line up well with the single hoop if so.

Honestly, I would get a Pelfrey…that's what I would've gotten if he was making them for 05-11's when I got a bumper.

I have the single hoop and like it. Three hoop is nice but the hoops sit so close to the headlights. Would be nice if they sat forward a bit more. If you end up getting a DO bumper, contact Jerry at BAMF and get some brackets to extend the bumper to tie into the frame further back. Unless DO provides those now, not sure.

Yeah, they sit really close to the headlights but I have not noticed them getting any closer when the body/bumper flexes at least.

DO supplied those small brackets when I got the bumper, but they looked a little flimsy for my tastes. The BAMF ones that you and I have are heavy duty…I have no hesitation winching/recovering from the bumper now.

I'll getting the DO at little under half the cost of a Pelfrey, from a TW member, i don't do brand loyalty really, if its quality and the price is right, it's good as sold.

    BAMF for brackets. Gotcha

Seems the consensus is to get the upgraded brackets. Thanks for the suggestions fellas

    That's a different story then…good deal.

I like the DO, I just kinda wish I would've gotten a Pelfrey, so I could have both front and rear Pelfrey's once I get his rear H/C. (I am a little bit of a control freak, so it would've satisfied my tendencies to have the same brand for both) :anonymous:
