    :) It sure is...

Just messing...I should be able to go unless anything unforeseen comes up. Excited to meet some other TW dudes and actually wheel. GWNF was ok, but I would mainly classify it as dirt roads with some rocky portions.

I got in on the group buy and they were here right quick. Hit up box rocket and he should be able to connect you to the 'local to the states' guy.

I'll see if I can find it too.

Edit: It was Kurt at Cruiser Outfitters. I know you can't get in on the GB but here are the details http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/off-roading-trails/313243-maxtrax-group-buy.html

Damn, I don't even remember seeing that thread.

PM'd BoxRocket, but maybe I can look around for some deals. Might actually get these sooner rather than later, as well as the Pelican case, since I'm impatient. This might just be a test for me though :)

Put in the order for a 5W 20'' spot lightbar from Vivid Illumination (Colton) for his group buy. I was pretty set on getting a Rigid E2 20'', but it would've been over $700, whereas the VIP bar will be about $215.

The VIP lightbar from Colton puts out 16K lumens, while the Rigid puts out 18K, which I figure is pretty negligible. Although Rigid has a lifetime warranty, it is "limited" and I would rather deal with a TW member who has a 5 year warranty instead of a company who may just say I was being negligent or something and not help me.

So in short, I'm getting a lightbar that has virtually the same output, but for $550+ cheaper; and I'm helping out a TW member and vendor.

That is why you are one of the good guys

On my list is either a satoshi grill and a bamf behind the grill mount with a 20"

    Or

An avid front light bar with a 20"

Totally undecided on the bar brand but as for type, i'd like to have a combo.

I use to have an Avid. I would recommend a Satoshi and the BAMF BTG bracket, purely because of what I think looks good

I think Avid's look pretty slick bare, but I think putting lights on the Avid lightbar (ironic, yes, I know) makes it look a little goofy.

As far as the pattern...Colton says in his GB thread that he "...will almost always recommend spot as even they have a bit of flood light by default due to shallow reflectors."

I was thinking about a combo as well, but going off what he said, I'm just gonna get the spot.

Believe me, he is definitely worth consulting before any light purchase :)

I had a used BAMF lined up but knew if i bought it, that i'd be buying another grill and satoshi-ing it (probably just mess it up) and it would cost me a good bit of money.

You on the list with Homer?

The BAMF brackets are definitely not cheap, I can tell you that

with multiple spot beams, you can always am a couple of them outward to get a wider field of view........but there's nothing you can do to a driving or fog beam (easily) to makie it project farther. unless you have a lot of lights, allowing you to vary the beams acordingly, you'll almost always want to go with spot.

Not to thread jack but... remember if you do this, do a thin lip satoshi or you will need to cut part of your vertical support to fit the light bar.

    ^

I like the look of my thin-lip much better than full depth, I'm glad I got it. I kind of like the flush look over full depth too.

I'm the opposite of you and like the deeper look, to each their own :) but I had to cut a lot out for it to fit.

    :)

Speaking of Satoshi's, I need to do some epoxy work on my grill...some of the inner trim pieces are starting to crack.

I'll probably do that on Friday...

Second Pelican case (1700NF black) and Maxtrax's (black) on the way! Used the last of my birthday money as well as the "payment" for housesitting and six pets sitting the past week for my parents. :)

No more stuffs for a while :(
