Can you take a picture of it? I am running the same mount, I had to switch around some of the washers on the actual antenna mounting stud. My antenna stud was getting interference from the BAMF mount because I had the teflon washer in the wrong spot. :anonymous:

Definitely sounds like a bad ground if changing the antenna length is gaining 0. Or possibly a bad coax.

Maybe order of stud mount washers and stuff is wrong? I didn't know how they went on.

Yes, the order is wrong! I did the same thing. I'm in South Carolina right now on travel, my truck is in San Diego. But I will get my Girlfriend to take a pic. Its the stupid white teflon washer. It goes in a certain place to insulate the signal.

I think you know that I like to do shit myself and encourage it with others but after dicking with my SWR and all the configurations for antenna and aux for about a week with limited success I finally gave up, went to my local truck stop and talked with the CB shop guy. Within 10 minutes and for $15 the dude had it tuned on all channels properly and I was on my way. If time is money, I lost that battle at the beginning stages :D. Just a suggestion if you are racking your brain on getting this fixed. Good luck.

I will try the washer order like Adamar is going to help me with, and if it's not that, I may just have to do some research or something else. There's really only one truck shop around here but we'll see.

I have to use those big washers somewhere since the hole on the BAMF mount is a good amount larger than the diameter of the stud mounts I have.

I will try and move around the teflon washer to see what works.

I am running the BAMF mount as well. Move the washers with the teflon on top of the BAMF mount. Then big washer right above. Its actually just like the picture that Ckeene9 posted above. I had mine like yours and switched to this and all my SWR went away.

Also mine looked like a hotdog in a hallway, thats just how they are. Just make sure its tight, and it won't move around at all, the teflon gives a little and will hold it in place. Don't add any washers more than what the stud came with, can also cause interference.

Last of all, the ground wire that goes from Antenna to the mount bolt. Make sure you removed all powder coating/ spray paint and its bare metal under the eyelet where it touches the mount. I just dremmeled and sanded around the one bolt, but not enough to where you could see it when the bolt is installed. Hopefully that makes sense.

Copy…yeah I believe I did not scrape or tape off paint around the ground wire, I'll do that as well.

Sounds good and hope it helps! I am a electronics technician and work on comms gear and this stupid thing(SWR) threw me for a loop at first. But i don't like to follow directions either :notsure:

Question, how many lugs hold the spare on, 3?

How'd you make out with the cb antenna?

Tried to move around the washers on the CB mount. Now have PL-259 connection and one metal washer below the BAMF mount, then teflon washer on top of BAMF, followed by another metal washer, then antenna.

Re-tested SWR, and numbers changed from around 1.7-2.0 depending on antenna height, but the weird thing was that 1/19/40 all read the same SWR just like before. I did not scrape paint off the mount yet because I've got a lot of other higher priority life stuff to take care of but any thoughts by knowledgeable peeps?
