    :) Sweet!

Just applied coat of film (after covering cab mounts this time :anonymous:) and will go back in a bit to see if I missed anywhere.

Second coat on skids done also.

Really need to re-grease UCA bushings soon, they're looking nasty. I think that will be the last real maintenance I need to do for a while besides touching up the paint on the rear bumper. Getting kind of rusty on the inside corners.

Not loving this spring maintenance

I'd say about 20-30% of the fluid film is still present on my frame. I am pleased with how well it has worn....i was worried it'd be there for a long time. I'll probably lightly touch it up this summer and then let toyota do it next spring.

Over all, i think it stopped a fair amount if the rust....didn't do as well as i would've liked but its definitely better than nothing.

I would still rather rustoleum the whole frame but i doubt that'll ever happen.

I was pretty happy with how it performed as well...I didn't notice any more rusting than when I applied it about six months ago. Mainly wanted to scrub the frame prior to the next coat because I didn't want to fluid film on top of a layer of dirt, salt, and grime.

Inside of skids done, started on outside now. Thinking I will just mount them again tomorrow because it's getting late and I'm tired ;) The 70# IFS skid is just a beast.

Skids done, ready to be bolted back up tomorrow.

And finally, a rare sight with my truck in the bay as my parents are out of town. Sure is a tight fit both vertically and horizontally!

It fits...barely. Vertically I have about two or three inches of space...horizontally is very tight if I leave enough space to squeeze by with the door down. If I pull forward until I see my hoops tap the front bookshelf, I have just enough space to walk behind the truck with the door down.

I do have a quick little bungee solution to tether the CB antenna down whenever I do pull in the garage.

Doh! The clay kit I get (Mequiar's I believe?) is not light on the wallet, but I can usually clay at least four times with it, which lasts me about two years.

So you figured out the UCAs?

Clay and wax came out beautifully. Should've done it years ago.

You just reminded me to check my tire pressures....which i have not done since January.

Yeah, kinda  The one bushing I was having trouble with is just a tiny bit squished, but not really. I cleaned them, tightened them back up, and greased them four pumps so they should be good.

It's amazing what claying picks up, even after a good wash.

I haven't checked my tire pressures in a while too...I was running about 34 in all of them, I usually like to keep it 40F/38R.

Down to only 7 planned upgrades on the truck!

I've taken some of the mods like snorkel and other skidplates off since I've determined they're just not worth it since I might offroad two or three times a year. The extra weight and impracticality is just not good for DD status.

I have built my truck to be able to roll with the punches and be prepared for a lot of scenarios, but most don't involve dedicated offroading. I like it for possible camping/hiking trips, myself and other stuck motorists in bad weather, backup emergency clothes/rations/etc, and general practicality of storage and utility.

Maybe in many years if I have another DD, I will add a snorkel, more skids, etc, but not now.

    I love it!

Came with three 15 round mags, small tube of TW-25 grease, cable lock, and case. Short reset trigger, Sig night sights, de-cocking lever, "dehorned" frame/slide, and phosphate coated internals. $863 out the door.

Custom OWB/IWB holster will be here in about a week or so.

Invoice paid for (5) SCS F-5 wheels in matte gunmetal 4.5" BS. They will not be going on until my current tires wear out but I was just worried SCS would be seriously backlogged like they have in the past if I waited until I actually needed them.

Maybe going on in 1.5 years or so. We will see how the KM2's wear.

    :)

The closer they get, the more excited I am.

I am also thinking more and more about just mounting them now if I find a buyer for my current wheels since it will be at least two years before I buy new tires. I don't think it's worth it to just have them sit around for 1.5-2+ years...

Well a set of 4 brand new is around $950ish? I have five (one in perfect condition) but four have rock rash just on the wheels though.

Probably about $700ish but I am reasonable.
