Another close call today. I was approaching this intersection and was actually slowing down for caution when I started eyeing this van coming out of the cross street. Sure enough, she started to pull out and I had to swerve around her. I admit that I probably could've braked in time or handled it a little better but this was the closest I've come to a T-bone type of accident and my mind kind of locked up. Luckily I was able to muster enough reaction to swerve around safely. There was even another rider coming out of the other cross street who saw it.

I actually turned around after I pulled over and had a breather for a couple seconds, and went back to the street she was going to and saw her in the driveway. I pulled over and had an (actual) pleasant conversation with her and just asked her to please watch out for bikes. Her husband had an R6 in the garage so I think she actually felt bad that she didn't see me and apologized. Goes to show you if you ever have an encounter like this to just start out as a human being and not come out swinging. I told her I wasn't there to attack or yell at her but just wanted her to please pay more attention.

Select HD from the cog icon if it doesn't automatically go into 1080. Sorry for wind noise.

Ordered the 2-Way Remote for my Drift camera so I don't have to reach up on my helmet and press the tiny buttons on the camera to turn it on/off and start/stop recording. I'll probably attach it to my bars somewhere for ease of use.

It wouldn't be so annoying if I didn't forget to turn the camera on and start recording every time I start riding ;) so this will be nice.

Ordered JT steel sprocket set (stock 14T / 42T) and DID 520 X-Ring chain (stock 106). Gonna have a friend who's a mechanic (used to only do bikes so he knows what he's doing) help me out, he said he would do it for free if I do most of the work while he walks me through it.

New chain and sprockets put on. Also washed it for the first time since November, ready to ride in the ~63* weather tomorrow!

I'll add pics of the new chain and sprockets probably tomorrow.

Ordered Alpinestars SMX vented boots. More protection, especially in the ankle and shin area, plus they will be a lot easier than shoving my foot into my TCX shoes and doing the laces everytime.

Those oneals haven't worked out for me at all. Can't break them in.

    $105 down the drain :/

What are you asking about Level8s for Matt?

Yeah I think those coincide with the 44's I got. Oh well ;)

Just chatting with @fatfurious2 about wheel choices, was trying to remember the Level 8's since they were my second choice if I didn't get the F5's.

Boots are in. I've ridden three times with them so far and they make you feel a little more invincible ;)

Definitely can't feel the shifter as much as I could with my TCX shoes, but I'm already getting used to them so I think they will be good.

So much easier getting my foot in and out than the shoes, having to shove them in and lace up everytime.

Trying out dipped lower fairings. Not sure if I'll keep it or not since the white is not a great match, but we'll see for now.

Ticked over 12,000 miles the other day.

Also picked up a free Pitbull front fork stand from a guy at the firehouse who didn't use it anymore. I don't think I really have a need for a front stand right now but I figured it was good to have if I got it for free.

Which kind of front stand? The one that goes under the forks or the one that goes up under the nose? Useful for keeping the bike off the ground in the winter and when removing the wheel

It's got the U-shaped mounts that grab under the forks. I didn't store the bike this winter and doing anything having to do with removing the wheel is a little above my expertise at the moment, but like I said, it's a good deal to get a stand (especially Pitbull) for free.
