317lbs wet bone stock. So far I figure i've removed 3-4lbs

Exhaust will be a big help, new bars, eventually new sprockets, and eventually new rotors will all make a noticeable difference

Not to mention, i'm losing weight too. I'm 174lbs. With gear i'm probably 185. So 315+185= an even 500lbs

I'm trying to lose some weight too. Could probably stand to lose 10# myself. Working out more than ever but need to change my eating habits.

Doing some cleaning in the garage and decided to check my tire pressure. I was at about 14psi in the front and 20psi in the rear! Kawasaki calls for 28psi/32psi.

So I rode to the gas station to fill up and get a little riding in since I hate not being able to with these tires. Filled up and the bike feels a little less wobbly, which is good news for my long-ish ride to the dealer on Thursday to get my new tires.

Shifting is getting better but I still had a couple jerky shifts and little stupid mistakes. Still kept the shiny side up though! :)

I like to check my tire pressure every 300 miles....my bike is stored on cold concrete so the tubes are prone to leaking.

Need some help here. The PO installed a new shifter prior to the sale and I just noticed this while doing some detailing on the bike.

Is the movement in shifter tie road normal? The bike shifts fine but I'm concerned it's not supposed to move off the tierod spline like that.

Edit - Just realized I filmed in vertical orientation. i am idiot :anonymous:

It's weird, with the bike, I really don't have that much desire to mod a lot of stuff. I think I just got burned out doing the truck and realized vehicles basically become a bag of worms the farther you take it from stock. I'm really only interested in doing a couple cosmetic mods (wheel tape, fender eliminator, etc) and possibly a slip on exhaust down the road.

Unless you're talking about getting a new rear tire, then I certainly feel your pain ;)

Well. Good news and bad news. Good news is that I have a brand new rear tire, so I can actually ride! :woot:

Bad news is that the tech at the dealer noticed my front fork seals were busted and leaking, so I asked them to wait on the front tire since they will have the front end apart soon to fix my seals and save some labor costs.

All told between the rear tire and install today plus the next appointment with the front tire and fork seals, it could be up to $800 total depending on the internals they need to replace in the forks. :(

But, it needs to be done and I guess this is the cost of having a motorcycle, so oh well. I'm lucky my front doesn't need to be replaced and I can ride with the current for the next two weeks.

Pictures from riding today after tire install. I took it easy and put about 30 miles on the new rear.

Fork seals often blow prematurely from people improperly strapping down/hauling motorcycles. So don't be worried, its a common thing.

Shame you can't find a local private individual to do the forks for you. That'd save you some. Most shops usually want your first born child for a front fork rebuild. :(
