Ordered a Ram Mount with birthday money for my handlebars so I can use my phone as a GPS. Will also order the Scorpion gloves once they come back in stock.

The ram mount is nice. My phone has only fallen out once and the was because it wasn't in the best position when I jumped my bike...

Rear seat net came today. I'm out of town so will have to see how it is on Wednesday. Ram mount is supposed to ship on Thursday.

Net works. I think I've also determined I'm not gonna put anymore money into the bike itself besides routine maintenance. The bike works, looks just fine to me, and sounds fine, so there's no reason to dump more money into it. I'm still going to be buying better gear as time goes on but these are things I can use no matter what bike I have.

I've learned through my truck that vehicles become a real can of worms the further you take them from stock.

Should be getting my front fork seal rebuild for free due to a separate recall issue from Kawasaki that the dealer is going to use for the forks.

Just going to pay for new front tire and install, which will be around $200, instead of the extra $400 I was probably going to pay for the fork rebuild.

Also bought a little Pro Grip tank protector that I was going to put on but the service guy saw me buy it and is going to have one of his techs who's good at putting stuff like that on install it. I think this may be the last non-maintenance purchase I make, but it was only $17 regardless.

Buddy's going to pick me up in a couple so I don't have to wait another three hours, so a good day all in all.

$220 later and I've got a front fork rebuild, new front tire, and tank protector. Lucked out on them being able to use the recall to my advantage.

Washed the bike, checked tire pressure, and took higher quality photos for updating the modifications post after the OP.

Removed the rear side reflectors. The OEM fender is still pretty ugly but it is functional with the hooks for the cargo net and I'm not gonna spend anymore money for a fender eliminator. Looks a little better I think.

There was some recall of the rear brake caliper but the service guy used it to have Kawasaki pay for the front fork seal rebuild and parts.

They also did some brake line adjustment on the rear I think as part of the recall. All I know is I saved $400 :)

Wow that grill looks great. I had one of those FJ emblems but gave it to my brother.

And yes, the recall deal was a very nice surprise to get before my buddy picked me up.

I didn't want to post my grill in your bike thread lol.

That is awesome that you got a deal like that. I was hoping the expense of the fork rebuild wasn't going to deter you from riding

    No worries either way :)

Yeah I'm really glad it worked out like it did...I'm gonna ride either way though :) had a good ride yesterday. Met up with a TW member to give him a gift card for his alignment at a 4x4 shop near me then swung by home to grab something I was shipping out. Box was like 24"x12" probably but I made it work strapped to the back...I had to sit really forward in the seat and was kind of crushing parts of my body I didn't want crushed  Then rode another 20 miles or so to drop off my CCW application and back home.

Got the RAM mount on today. Seems pretty nice. Mostly have it for a GPS capability or so I know if someone's calling me and can pull over.

Realized I need to do a throttle adjustment...seems like it is really easy on the Ninja just from watching a YT video. I'll do it after I get back in town on Wednesday.

These damn Scorpion gloves need to come back in stock...velcro on these cheap EVS gloves is almost non-existent now. Also have a 1/4'' hole by my thumb on the right glove that happened during my MSF class.

Got the throttle adjustment done finally. Tried to do it a day or two ago and the line would not twist, even with pliers.

Tried it again tonight and it finally broke free so I could turn it. Now the ~20*-30* degree of play on the throttle is gone.
