    In addition,I would mount a canopy on a side-rail and on one or both of the arms that extend to the rails I would like to put a jerry can mount. Just dreaming here.

    well, unfortunately i dont work in a fab shop anymore. It has seriously hindered my creativity lol but what u describe doesnt sound that difficult, have u been by any local shops? down there im sure they are lookin for some work now, i know they are up here anyways

    I have asked a local shop about it. I asked about the feasibility of doing a rack over the camper in aluminum and the guy said it would be atleast 1500 for materials alone. I stopped asking after that.

    Yeah its too steep for me not discounting the work involved but that quote didn't include labor.
