Not to talk you out of a sweet deal before I can convince my new wife to let me buy these, but were you running into overall length or travel length issues?
Shortening the travel just requires adding/replacing an $11 shaft spacer: hate to see you take this big a loss on a simple fix.

Yeah I was under the impression that since my rear lift is going to be 2-3 inches with some weight in the back (putting camper on) that this overall stroke length would not work and would be to long to squeeze in the back on my 3rd gen short bed....am I under the incorrect impression? I had a feeling we could make it work, but with some major manipulation....

No worries, the work needed isn't too bad if you do your own, but is probably prohibitive if you're farming it out. Either way, free bumps.

With that set-up, yes: a 4" bump is likely to be engaging frequently and you'll want to shorten the stroke/travel. You can shorten the stroke by adding a shock spacer; this is a cheap part but does require tearing down the shock.

The shock body length you're stuck with. I think your dimensions should be close to mine: I have 6.5" under the bed and 16" if I go slightly outboard. These bumps would have to be slightly outboard or through the bed (9.75"): a smaller set with 2" of travel would pretty well fit under (6.75").

You can also see what you're routinely cycling by throwing a zip tie around the top of your shaft and seeing how far it gets pushed down.
