Shipping kills the deal for you unless you work for a company who will allow you to use their dock/business address for delivery. Over the counter rates for normal people shipping A to B are absurd, if you had an account or company account to use it would be a fraction of the cost, for example on our company account we pay about 1/5 of what a normal fedex/ups rate would be for express delivery and 1/3 ground cost...otherwise good luck.

As one of the low ballers, and while it’s not necessarily my place to judge, not all of us are really looking for junky knockoffs specifically.

Don't low ball a good deal, look for what you can afford or keep saving. OP giving a good deal, why bring it down when he doesn't need to, i'm sure when or if you plan you sell your 2016 wheels you wouldn't like people offering you a crap price when you're asking for below market.

I’m not trying to pick a fight here, just trying to share the other side of the coin on market forces.

I waited for months to sell my lomax tonneau for a few $’s more than initial offers. I mostly wanted to find it the right home. I’m very happy with the buyer and would have gladly cut him a better deal. He didn’t ask and drove to pick it up. Sometimes feeling good about a transaction is more important than a few dollars.

Sometimes storage of larger items becomes a pain. Various reasons why used stuff is priced where it’s priced.

I can easily afford $3000 wheels but I’m not in a position where I need them for any specific reason. My offer is priced accordingly. I’d rather have 5 17” T4R pro wheels really but these are a nice option as well. I let another local set pass by semi recently which were priced at $800. So I have a rough idea of how fast these might move if the price starts slipping.

The marketplace is a good thing, matching buyers and sellers. Price is one of the most interesting aspects of a free market. Very difficult to predict and frequently harder to explain.

No reason to get overly emotional about it. I’m not a jerk, OP definitely seems cool and I’m sure you are a good guy too.
