Previous owner put in a K&N cold air intake. I don't care much for the added growl and would rather have the stock intake. Trade me your stock intake + $150 and i'll give you the K&N setup. Normally sells for $300 so this is half price for ya. Just cleaned and oiled the filter. Will include the K&N service kit with cleaner and oil.

Needs to be a local swap, willing to travel anywhere from Bellingham to Tacoma to meet up.

Never had an intake noticeably change the exhaust note (not saying it can't, just would surprise me if it did). You sure you don't have an aftermarket cat-back on there as well? Either way, GLWS.

I think he meant the sound the intake itself makes from under the hood, some cold air intakes have an increased 'growl' that you can hear especially under wide open throttle. Part of what they use to market them since a lot of people like the sound, but some don't.

Take that thing off asap. The oil can gum up your maf sensor. GLWS.

Ah you're probably right. Still only ever heard that with the hood open and outside the vehicle. Probably some people who spent less time at rock concerts who can hear better than me though.

No the rest of the system is stock. This (and most) cold air intakes will emit a more audible "growl" from the intake side when you get on the gas hard. At idol and driving around "responsibly" it's unnoticeable. My brother moved to this same intake from stock and the difference was noticeable right away. I've also had a couple 2nd gen tacomas at this point so I know what it should sound like stock.

I assume you mean the MAF sensor, not map. And i'd disagree with that. As i stated above my brother has run the same intake for years and we just got together to clean our MAF's and throttle bodies (when i had my other tacoma with a stock intake). His MAF was just as clean as my own. So from first-hand experience i'd say thats more of a rumor-mill type thing.

Totally is, started by people who drench the filters in oil because they have no restraint or ability to read the instructions.

The problem is this is my daily driver and i can't run around without an intake/filter while we wait on shipping for the swap. If you're willing to ship your stock one to me first so i can swap out and ship you the K&N then i'd be willing. If you pay shipping.
