Completely forgot about that, I thought 4R looked nicer, but the black flares on the Tacoma were a nice touch with the lime. I guess both colors carried over to the corresponding TRDs.

I wonder why that was? Logistics or both paints weren't available in both Japan and NA/Mexico?

Yeah last few years been pretty good my MGM 2021 pro manual got me 51.5k and paid 46.5k (5k) msrp for that in March 2021. Paid 39k for a loaded TRD off road manual loaded in 2020 msrp was just a few over 44k, traded in got 37k (-2k) so all in all I'm about even and put a bunch of money in my pocket after cashing out.
3 years of free driving much better than my past BMW's etc have done.

So we'll see what happens over the next 6 months have a feeling a lot will be changing.

Yeah I don't know where the world made this wrong turn. I can't recall any other vehicles going this route and this was happening before 2020, can't blame this one on the boogeyman. There have always been special editions, limited productions, new release and premium high end vehicles which commanded a ADM. These are Toyota Tacomas, at the time when Toyota has produced the greatest amount of Tacomas in the history of Toyota Motor Corporation.

I think things are changing. I have gotten calls from 4 different Toyota dealers in AZ telling me in the last 2 days that they have GR corollas on lot and the people that put down deposits all backed out. That include Morizo editions.

GR4 is a cool car, but paying that price for a Corolla is going to be hard for some people to do when it comes time to sign. I'm sure the resale valuation has dropped for anyone looking to easily flip one, considering the current economic conditions. Pay over MSRP on a GR4 or get a few grand of a WRX at a decent rate? I'm sure that's what a lot of casual t4 AWD buyers are questioning. The Corolla GR is also something I'd want to garage and take excellent care of.

Many, many people are sick and tired of paying out the nose for the newest, flashiest high tech bullshit that does nothing but break down constantly. When money is tight and insurance costs are high people will do their homework and buy vehicles that will last.

Don’t you pay sales tax on vehicles in Arizona? If so, need to factor that in the equation. Unless you’re trading in than you just pay tax on the gap, correct?

Im still pissed they got rid of Cavalry blue as soon as they did. I don’t even like blue, but I love that blue. I think Lunar Rock is the nicest of all at the moment. I liked Cement too, but I like Lunar Rock even more.

I preferred Cavalry and Voodoo blue over the current Bue Crush Metallic. I'm not much of a fan of dark blue not that it looks bad. Dark blue looks better on a police vehicle. LR would be my preference on a Tacoma or 4R, or CG on a Bronco or a Ranger. I could go for Area 51 on a STX F-150 but that might get old after a while.

I don't know what Toyota was thinking with the sinus infection green. Of course, Toyota could sneeze or fart out any color and someone would buy it just because it has "pro" stamped on it.

Every dealer I've been to in the valley (Toyota or other) has limited inventory and jacked up addendums with ridiculous doc fees. Even the power sports dealers (dirt bikes, side x sides, wave runners, ect) are pulling the same garbage. If you want to custom order they'll take your money and you'll wait 3 months minimum with no real guarantee. It's very shocking to me that dealers are demanding 5k, 10k, even 30k markups with the expectation that someone will pay that. I was told numerous times mark ups were non negotiable. Even if you have it or can afford to, why the hell would you?

I think people are sick of the bs (including myself) and are waiting for a bargain. With the economy going the way it is deals might be sooner than later. :burp:

Safe travels and congratulations on the sale. :hattip:
