I purchased this for better transmission cooling, but after viewing temps on my Scan Gauge with the very little towing I do, I'm just going to keep it stock.

Hm, I any idea if it would be worth it to change the radiator when the fluid is changed? I was thinking about if these things ever need to be cleaned out.

    Direct fit or universal?

I don't think I understand your first question. Change/flush the tranny cooler or radiator?

Second: universal fit with universal brackets and hardware.

Awesome deal OP! I have this, but have never towed. My truck is a fat pig, and this definitely helps on hills

Basically I'm wondering if it would be worth it to swap, I figure the old ones get nasty after a while? Mine has a lot of bent fins.

This would seem a logical place for deposits to hide and relatively easy to flush, but I do like the low pressure drop feature (basically thick, cold fluid gets bypassed without need for a thermostat and the higher cooling capacity of this one).

I have it’s bigger brother, 4489. I’m in TX, don’t tow, and with stock setup the transmission temp hovers around 200-220.

I installed the 4489 and my temps have stayed around 160-190.

I have a filter installed before it reaches the aux oil cooler so I’m not worried about deposits.

I run just the cooler, I bypassed the radiator inline cooler.

Been going strong for 2 years now. Definitely worth the upgrade.
