EDIT: I’m switching gears. The entire project is now for sale.

    Located in Mahwah NJ 07430

    $800 Firm

    Have title

All boxed steel 1/8” wall. Very strong but not ridiculously heavy.

    Box is 44”W x 56”L

    Overall length is 9’

All new construction. New Dexter 3,500 lb axle, new springs, new hubs & bearings.

This trailer is BYOT (bring your own tires), the ones in the pic are from my truck. I kind of need those... I will sell it with the tires, but they are expensive tires. So.

I was building this trailer for myself, but I really don’t need it. I just got bored one day and felt like building a frame...

    PM for details.

This is the last trailer that I built. This one we took all the way out to Moab UT and back. We spent three days on the Kokopelli trail with it. So, I can attest to this designs durability, and trail worthiness.

It was built almost identically to the trailer above, except the new trailer has been improved due to what I learned on the trail on that trip.

How much would you be asking for a completed trailer as pictured?

Oh, I don’t know. I’m not sure I want to do all that work for someone else TBH.

Banging out a few frames though, that would be fun.

I do have another one of those Sears trailers. That’s actually what I was building the frame for.

I’m playing around with the idea of saving the Sears trailer for myself, and building a complete trailer out of this frame of my own design. With a lid and what not.

So, how does one mount loads of different options onto this thing?
I'm interested to make this having multiple uses like for loading snowblowers, just a cargo thing, or like the setup you have with the RTT.

Just FYI, I hope you know if you do buy it, you're going to have to somehow cross country over to him to pick it up, as I'm sure he isn't going to ship the thing.

Those are the 3500 lb springs that came with the 3500 lb axle. Only I removed the bottom two leafs.

Why you ask? Well, I SUPPOSE I don’t mind expounding for you old timer...

I use a 3500 lb axle because it’s beefier than the 2000 lb axle.

I only use the top two leafs because it works perfectly.

That good enough for you? Nosey. :D
If you were going to use it that way, I think welding 1/8” plate to the frame to make it a flat trailer would be the way to go.

Then weld stake pockets to the outside of the frame. Use the stake pockets to attach sides, or a rack, or whatever you wanted.

Not at all. I’ll have to price a sheet of 1/8” plate, and what it would cost for however many stake pockets you’d want.

Maybe 10 pockets overall? 2 on the front/back and 3 on either side? I don't know if that would be strong enough, and I don't know how I would use those... I have zero knowledge when it comes to trailers and whatnot.

    Ha! Thanks man.

And yes, the shop actually will be for sale soon. We are trying to buy a new place in PA right now.

If it goes through, this will be the new shop. Four more bays around the other side.

Oh yeah, it’s pretty awesome. The big two bays have a concrete floor, insulation, heat, big compressor that’s piped into all of the other bays, etc.

The other bays have gravel floors. We are trying to make a deal to get all the tools, tractors, and equipment as well.

It’s an older guy, yes. He’s a friend of the family. Unfortunately, he’s on hospice right now.

He owned his own tractor trailers at one point, thus the two giant bays. You could park two trucks in there and comfortably have room to work around them.

The tractors and such are there because it’s on 11 acres and there is a field to take care of.

We will also own “the lane”. The private road that this house, and a hand full of others are on. So, taking care of the road will be my responsibility.

I can build a frame any size you would like. This particular trailer is a bit small to be used as a utility trailer IMO. But if someone wanted, say, a 4x8 trailer, that would be no problem.
