    For Sale:

Selling my M1101 light tactical trailer. Originally purchased in order to convert into an offroading/camping trailer but decided to go a different route. Trailer is already registered and title is in hand. Just have to transfer it over into your name. Trailer tows well behind my 3rd Gen Tacoma with no issue. You will need a raised/adjustable pintle hitch to tow it (not included). Wheels and tires have been changed out so it doesn't sit quite as high as they come from the manufacturer, but it is still pretty tall. The 12 pin military electrical connector has been changed out with a standard civilian 4 pin connector and the lights are all 12v. I have already changed out all of the QD pins with brand new ones and I have brand new side marker reflectors that I will throw in as well. Cash or paypal accepted. Sorry, no trades. You can either come pick it up yourself or I can tow it to you (within a reasonable distance plus the cost of gas). These trailers make fantastic overlanding/camping/offroading trailers and plenty of photos and videos can be found online. 20190116_075521.jpg 20180531_192337.jpg 20190116_075427.jpg 20190116_075611.jpg 20190116_075705.jpg

What were the other wires on the 12 pin harness for?

I honestly do not know why the military chooses to use 12 pin vs 4 or 7. A quick google search only turned up how to convert them. It possibly has something to do with the fact that military vehicles use 24v systems whereas civilian vehicles use 12v? :notsure:

The 12 pins are just in the original plug though. This trailer, like many others choose to do, has the plug removed but kept the original wiring harness and re-wired it into the 4 pin plug. There aren't any "extra" wires that I am aware of. There are plenty of write ups and youtube videos on how to rewire into 4 or 7 pin. Some people also choose to completely replace the entire wiring cable/plug from the trailer to tow vehicle with a civilian wiring harness. Those can be found on ebay but are quite a bit more expensive than just changing the plugs out.

Example of how to change plug from military 12 pin to civilian 7 pin: https://youtu.be/Wnu9JGW_99w

Hope that helps answer your question!

It does, thank you. Figured the extra plugs would control trailer brakes or something.

This trailer still has the factory surge brakes. They are hydraulic and not electrically operated.

I have never shipped an item this large. A quick search though showed the average cost being close to $800 based on the rough weight and dimensions I put in, with it being picked up this weekend and delivered next week. You (the buyer) would pay the additional shipping cost as well as the cost of the trailer. (Shipping cost is just an estimate based off of a quick google search and a shipping site/app. It may be higher or lower)

Honestly a road trip would probably be cheaper than shipping. I'll even knock the price down considerably if that is the case as I know how tedious that 17 hour drive can be.

    Oregon trail.

I shipped a car from California to Ohio. It was 700. But to et the car back home it was 1000. Seasons also make a difference in price. They would get my car for a month because Cleveland was frozen from snow.

Military Vehicles are dual wired for “blackout lights”, hence the 12 pin wiring harness. Doubling of the harness and lights

Do a search for it if you have never heard of it

Oh yeah I’m aware of the blackout features. Makes sense now.

That was also what I was thinking after he asked about it.

    Also, price drop. Now $1,400.
