    SOLD

I have finally found a camper for my truck, so I have removed my ARE DCU shell.

Over $2,000 new, it has many options:
    • Carpeted interior
    • Doors on both sides - full length
    • Door with window on rear
    • 12V light inside
    • 3rd brake light above rear door
    • Locks on every door with same key (and spares)
    Specs:
    • Weight of shell ~150lbs
    • Roof load limit:
      • "150 lbs when moving".
      • 800 lbs static weight (so your RTT, two people, your dog will be fine)
    • Roof Rack mounts: Kwik-rail - installed 24.5" apart - Works with Yakima 1A Raingutter towers
If you want any more information about the shell in general, feel free to call ARE and give them the serial number N794934.

Located near Mills College in Oakland, CA. You will have to come pick up since I have something else installed on my truck.

I forgot to get measurements when I took it off this afternoon, but I am pretty sure it will fit. I will update the thread with measurements on Wednesday when I get back home from picking up my new top...

I'm going to follow your path for a while, but with an older truck.

Do you have bed measurements offhand so I can learn more about the 2nd gens?

Picked up the replacement tonight. I also took measurements of the 2nd gen's bed so I can see how the ARE will fit.

PRICE DROPPED and original post has been updated with a diagram with measurements. I need to sell this in the next two weeks before I am homeless due to the landlord evicting us to sell the house.

@Anderson It won't fit as flush as on a 1st gen, but it will work just fine. Besides, this is a secure contractors shell, not a perfect fit fiberglass one. I do understand if this isn't what you're looking for, my home state of Ohio will gladly have your business for a new one (ARE).

I updated the original post with a drawing with measurements and checking the measurements I made of the 2nd Gen I got my Flippac from, it will fit. As this shell is 60-1/4" wide, this is what you will see:
front of bed: 3" of the plastic bed rail cover exposed on the bed sides
rear of bed: 1-3/8" of the plastic bed rail cover exposed on the bed sides

Very similar to how it looks here (yes, I know that's a long bed):

I appreciate your looking into the fitment a bit more. I currently have an A.R.E. shell on the truck that I am retrofitting with contractor doors for the new state regs regarding flammable chemical transport for my industry. Plus, I already test fitted your model on my truck back when I had just bought her. I didn't like the non-flush fitment. However, I would probably have been willing to deal with that if I had found a deal like yours. I was bummed when I saw yours pop up as I just had plopped down the greenbacks for new doors to retrofit mine. Special order, no refunds...

I agree with OP. Its also very useful and works with my RTT.

Free bump for OP. Maybe I should keep mine?

I drove 4 hours from home to pick it up. I found it posted over on ExPo. Please send me a PM if you have more questions to keep this for sale thread on topic.

Yeah, this was my plan back when I got the truck then realized that a RTT just wouldn't work well for me. This shell is built to support the weight and the doors are really convenient. Also, it's lighter than a fiberglass shell.

I'm back in town for a while and need to get this out of my friends garage while I am homeless/couch surfing/Flippac living.

Send me a PM if you are interested and we'll figure out a way to make it go home with you.
