DIY Drawer System.

I just finished building this up and am beginning to toy with the idea of doing this as a side gig. My ultimate business model is to work with you guys and build custom 1 off drawers, shelves and bedslides that suit your needs as you see fit. With that being said I am considering selling my system so i can reinvest the funds back in myself to get something going. Please reach out if you are interested in something custom as well!

This system includes:

• Custom cut footprint for 2005+ short bed Tacomas.
• 1 - 48" Drawer w/ Marine Grade Slam Latch
• 1 - 50" Bedslide capable of supporting 65 qt cooler/fridge/freezer fully loaded
• 1 - 48" Camp kitchen built to nest underneath bedslide for maximum space efficiency.
  • Small drawer within camp kitchen to house cutting board and cast iron skillet
• 3 - 13" cubbys at front of bed
• FULLY SEALED and WATERPROOF
• carpet on top deck
• aluminum trim on all corners for increased durability

The bedslide/drawer combo is what made me double take this thread. I’m interested. Do you know the overall weight?

#drawerinception I like it! Very clean. Looks HEAVY though with all that wood, I'd bet over 200 pounds, easily. What are the widths of each drawer?

 

already weighted, 152 lbs to be exact. left drawer is 18.5" wide, the kitchen is 20"

 

this is awesome! I wonder what something like this would cost for you to do, but all aluminum. I dont have a cap, so I would want weather proof.

 

Im looking at HDPE, bulb seals and a while lot more, hold tight.

 

@Doozy4212, are you looking to sell the one you already made? I was watching your build and am really interested if someone hasn't spoken for it already. I'm doing a cross-country trip at the end of August from NC to California and we were planning on visiting some friends at Buckley.

 

Be careful with HDPE. At higher temps it warps like a SOB.

 

How high? What would you recommend?
