    Vehicle:
    2002 4Runner (the best 3rd gen)
Bilstein/OME Lift, 5th Gen Wheels, BFGs, fun stuff... Had a 3rd Gen, twin turbo'ed it (traded in on a F150 Gen 2 3.5 Ecoboost)
Welp... now is when I introduce myself so you guys can judge me.

Sold this... 2004 GMC 2500 HD SLT (Fully Loaded) CCSB w/ 6.6 L Duramax with 74,000 miles (Chiped, Leveled, Rims, Nerfs, Exhaust)

Purchased this... 2012 Toyota Tacoma DCSB w/TRD Off Road Package

I was having some worries with the DMax, so I pulled the trigger on something reliable. When I purchased my first real vehicle back in 2009, (had a rusted 94 4Runner that I beat up pretty good) I wanted a Taco (just like I got) but couldn't afford it, so I settled for a basically new (1100 miles) 2006 Tundra Access Cab 4wd with the 4.7 V8. I traded it in on the DMax about 2 years ago.

I did some soul searching, realized the heaviest thing I ever pull is 2000 lbs (Diesel Side by Side we use during hunting season), and figured... what the hell, I'm getting me a Taco. It's not my daily driver, I have a sweet super duper red 99 Nissan Altima w/ 84,000 miles that I abuse Monday thru Friday with my 22 mile round trip commute.

Now, I have to decide whether I want to blow my money on my Harley (2010 Street Glide) or my Taco.

Welcome, I am new myself. Hey I have mostly owned dodge rams and I gave up my 5.7 Hemi truck for my Hemi charger, but when I got the itch to get back in a truck so I could hunt and camp more i traded the charger for the taco. I wanted something that held value and could last unlike my dodges ive owned (70k plus i start having unexplained issues) still catching flake from my dodge family on that choice.

i too went from a duramax to a tacoma..

you'll miss the duramax, but not the high repair bills or the constant worry of injector issues and other mishaps. the tacoma is much better off road, but i think the duramax is better on road, or at least on the highway (just the weight difference makes it more solid on the highways and whatnot) mileage is about the same, but overall i like my taco much better. i know what your thinking about hauling too...that the taco has no balls compared to the dmax, but it doesnt feel wimpy when its towing or hauling like you'd expect. you won't even notice the 2000lbs behind you. i was surprised how my taco hauled over 2000 lbs IN THE BED!

anyways hope you enjoy the taco! if you have any questions one of us will be glad to help you

    and welcome to TW!!
