The only thing I'd caution against is buying first model year of anything, Tacoma included. Too many shakedown problems, but the new GMC looks good. I'm not begrudging anybody the chance to buy something new.

OK everyone, back to kicking the OP's bag, I'm sure he gives zero fucks.

Well, well. Sure didn't mean to start a bloodbath discussion. Reality is that I'm just a senior citizen who made a decision about a vehicle. Every day while sitting in my chair looking out the window at the road nearby, I see several hundred vehicles passing by. And I think that, without exception, each was one day setting polished and bright in the showroom of a dealer, and some day a person went inside, thought about it, and decided to buy that car or truck. Now some are looking long in the tooth, some are patched up, and some still look as good as new.

I have owned many cars and trucks over the last 20 years. And on each one, I ended up doing upgrades which I believed would correct some niggling issue. I've installed fog lights, switched sound systems, bought rear view cameras, new paint, softer seats, tinted windows . . . there's always something. I am now 68 years old, 100% disabled from military service, and recognize full well that I'm slowing down. I no longer have the burning desire to keep adding improvements as technology advances.

For today, I am happy with my choice of trading vehicles. It's a total switch for me, but one more thing completed from my bucket list. My Tacoma did what I wanted it to do for as long as I owned it, and now I'm moving on to something different, Hope that this doesn't change me as a person.

What the hell does it matter? He doesn't need to explain a thing about his decisions nor for you or anyone else to understand.

What the hell is going on in this forum. Never seen so much self important BS in my life.

I know that, and am perfectly satisfied with my American (mostly) built Tacoma. You just find a lot of Big Three owners who still throw this around. I see now why OP did what he did in trading the Tacoma, and good for him and his situation. I hope the Chevy is all he is looking for.

Still wonder why the farewell posts appear, though...

Camaraderie develops between hobbyists who share similar hobbies. When the hobby ends it makes sense for them to say goodbye.

In fact, that's how adults behave in real life.

I agree, but they sure take a beating on their way out the door.

That is a problem, and definitely not their fault.

It should be embarrassing, for some reason it isn't and that is pretty bad.

What did you think would happen?..

If you're happy then why care what anyone else thinks and why look for approval other than maybe you had some regret?

I hope a vehicle purchase won't change you as a person... Other than you not being able to go offroad now :p you're still the same guy that you were before.
Unless Chevy brainwashed you?! Is that how they got you?!! Lol I wouldn't take anything on here personal OP. have fun with the Chevy and when you come back TW will welcome you back with open arms, after we say we told you so ;)

I moded 1999 Taco so much it had turned to Land Cruiser
Chevy is a down grade. :D Dodge diesel or Ford F350 would be step up from Taco.
Still don't get the idea why post was needed informing about the change. That first OP post should be moved to Chevy forum.
