We should get these kinds of threads banned lol. I swear I see 2-3 pop up every week.

Same comments in all of them. Sometimes OP has a legit reason for a change, and sometimes OP just wants to stir shit up and brag about their new purchase.

I like the new silvy's lets get a picture of it if you get the chance, I like the way the headlights on the new GMC's look a little better, but they're still nice trucks regardless. Good luck with it

My 2005 Tundra was assembled in Freemont California. My 2003 Chevy Trailblazer was assembled in good ol Mexico. I think Toyota is more American than Chevy these days. I support American working class, not American corporations.

On a second note. I test drove the Ford F-150, Dodge Ram 1500, Toyota Tundra and Toyota Tacoma last Friday for kicks. The Tundra is a nice truck, but just felt less solid. You could hear more engine noise and feel the road more. The F-150 and Ram felt much more solid. IMO Toyota doesnt make the most Lux vehicles. They are kinda basic. It makes it a tough decision. But I like Toyota because they make good looking off road trucks that don't break. The OP probably test drove the Chevy and liked what he wasn't going to get in a Tundra. I personally would have leased the Chevy. That way if it turns out to be a piece of crap you can give it back when the warranty is up. Or buy it if its a good truck.

Toyota has long been more US made than GM.

I bought a Tacoma because I wanted a long term truck that was reliable and had good enough mileage that it didn't turn me off from going back to a truck.

I certainly didn't buy a Tacoma so I can pull pud online to feel better about myself and my insecure purchase.

That is the point. Why would anybody post on Tacoma forum they traded in for Silverado,,,, unless they are not secure about trading for Silverado.
Not like anybody here is going to be jealous of his Chevy.
That post belonged on Chevy forum so people there can feel better somebody else got suckered into GM products.
Now if he posted he traded for F350 dually king ranch. Than yeah few people would be jealous. CHevy is far from popular desire. Somewhere in between Pontiac Aztec and Yugo.

Because they've spent time here making friends, and feel a connection to TW? Kind of like when you find a new job and you tell your coworkers that you're leaving..? It's normal.

He didn't ask people to be jealous. For fucks sake he's 64 years old, what does he care about the opinions of apparently a bunch of insecure folks who have to tell others that their truck is shit because it isn't what they personally drive?

He's not trying to appease and ask forgiveness, he's acting like a normal non-idiot. Maybe you should petition for a sticky that says if you don't drive a Tacoma, then just disappear altogether or we can delete your post history so you never existed here in the first place. TW obviously can't see past it's own nose, which is pathetic for such a worthwhile forum.

And the best of the worst? When it gets talked about then the romper room turns into "well if you don't like it, fuck off!" TW is a great resource with good folks, but this attitude is prevalent and quickly turns into a shithole when the populace gets their collective panties in a bunch. This reads like a Honda forum more than a group of like minded hobbyists. Can't spend a dollar without asking strangers how they think their truck will look first, give me a break. Insecurity is rampant here and threads like this make it glaringly obvious.

"I bought a new Tacoma Prerunner!" --- not a real truck, get 4x4!
    "I bought a 2.7 4x4" --- not a real truck, get a V6!
    "I bought a regular cab" --- should've bought a DC!
    "I bought a DCSB" --- should've bought a long bed!

Yada yada yada. When it comes down to it, if it isn't the same truck then it's the wrong truck, Tacoma or otherwise. That is a poor attitude and doesn't promote the forum in any way whatsoever.

Not trying to be an AH, just my opinion. I personally really like the Dodge Ram. I can get a Ram 1500 for the same price as a Tacoma after rebates. But I might buy Toyota for the reliablilty and I also really like the Tacoma. Its just preference. I hope the OP has a good time in his new truck and doesn't have the same experience I had.

Posting on public forum that you traded Tacoma which gave you no trouble for POS Chevy, is more like screaming in the middle of the town square that you leaving your high paying office job for horse manure shoveling job.
It gives you stares and most people at that moment think you are an idiot.

Also, Chevy is shit, and nothing can change that.
Most of us owns more than one vehicle. You don't see others posting daily updates on their other vehicles, especially on 2gen forum. It's ok to own something else, but if you post something on public forum you should expect comments back.

The difference is someone makes an intelligent, non-offensive post and his response is a bunch of childish retorts.

Who looks like the idiot, again? Certainly not any of the 3 or so assumedly former members of TW who all were blown away by the immature response to their posts.

I agree with what you are saying. But is everyone really taking it so personal that they are genuinely pissed? I talk shit about DCSB's and mall crawlers and people who trade their tacoma in for any other vehicle. its funny to joke about whats better or worse and get some jabs in here and there. But I really could care less. Everyone likes different shit, that's why there is more than one car Company. I think it's time to fucking lighten up a bit. If anyone is really pissed or anyone does take offense to another persons decision to trade their Tacoma then I would take a step back and think about what the F I was saying and ask myself "why do I care"? And TailDrag... Get a fucking sense of humor.

Someone is always mad and is willing to bash someones choice, especially when its against what the forum is. Thats why I like reading the forums sometimes. Its like facebook, but you don't know everyone. LOL.

When I sold my Baja Bug I posted "sold my bug, had fun with you guys. Not leaving the desert scence, still have toys. Thanks for the good times."

I say keep the threads, I'm off furlough now. That's 3 more breaks a week I need something to do.

You are wrong, fact of making those posts ( starting whole new threads even) is very childish thing to do.
We did learn to tolerate 5 year olds craving attention, grown ups pulling " look at me " stunt is somewhat silly.
None of the posts you are mentioning add anything substantial.

Now if somebody posted hey I got largest camper possible and I tried towing with Tacoma and its ano go so I traded for brand new F 350. Many people on that forum would most likely would be in support. It's subtle, difference but changes how people view your post.
