So, as you grow, focus on a career, expand a family, as so often happens. Fundamental choices, give and take arise.

For me, it was a choice, part with my beloved second generation Toyota Tacoma, DBL CAB. This was my first ever, so many firsts with this capable machine.
From the moment i glanced at it on the lot, it was an immediate, profound, instantanious, "that's the one!"

Stock, of course and the next 6 months we're a whirl wind of excitement. Additions 6 in coilover procomp lift, American thunder duals, k&n, autostart, new speakers, headlights, wow! It was fun!

Now i'm building a house, so i realized the eye appeal of third gens, and the need for house closing costs.
I sold, and made 14,500 with that truck. But i sold it to a person, whom more importantly, wanted to pick up where i left off.

So here is the question, in july i'll be looking to purchase 3 gen, tacoma trd, and lifting it 6 inches, with fabtech, so i can put the mickey thompson classic lll. Anyone whose gone this route, willing to share there experience with 3rd gen, running 6 in lift 17x9 35x12.5 Bfg's

I'm at the beginning of my 6month research.

Really what i want to know is this.

    1. Did you run a similiar lift as i did in a Gen 2, now currently on Gen 3.
    - A) better
    -B) meh, really no difference
-C) oh man this isn't what i expected

I did have the searching for gears, down shifting, on hills, or extreme head winds. But i just applied more gas.

Any insight is welcome. And yes, i understand what i sold. Why i sold it! Lol

    Appreciate it!

    Like, so many.
I’ve always thought 6 inches of lift was a lot for Tacos, but you know what you want and have some experience with it already, so I’m sure you’ll be happy. Are you going to regear?

This time around i was mulling over the idea of regearing. And anything i pull off factory wise, i'm definitly selling on here.

I was also looking into a 1 piece drive shaft conversion as well. I'm not concerned really with 35x 12.5 doing damage per say to gears. But where you alter one thing, i have to research, where and what those changes have on other areas.
