    Haha no thread jack but it's funny this thread is alive after the wheels finally sold! :) for prep I shot blasted the factory clear coat and silver finish taking them down to the bare aluminum alloy. The steel shot creates the slightly rough finish. Degreased them and hit them with acetone right before paint and did lots of light coats to get good even coverage. No primer.

    No problem. I think the key to making the paint last is not painting over the factory finish if you can avoid it. If not, at least rough it up and clean it well.
