My transmission has been acting up lately, especially after I took it through some snow. It started slipping and clunking. Took a look underneath and noticed I had a leak, and figured out the pan gasket is toast and fluid was dirty and low. A code for SLT solenoid D showed that it needs repair. I pulled it out and checked it with a multimeter and it reads 5.9 ohms. Should I replace it? Or should I put it back in, refill the fluid and see what happens? I can’t seem to find a specific ohm reading these need anywhere and thought someone on here might know. Any knowledge would be appreciated.

I really dont trust resistance checks, they can be misleading, Toyota uses them in a lot of literature but its not a great tool for diagnostics because resistance can change between tools, temps and load.

I'd suspect it might be dirty, they are hard to order typically and rarely fix the problem. I'd say just clean what you can out and fill the trans.

Sometimes a solenoid code is a by product of what its controlling, rather than the solenoid itself.

New update. Filled er up, followed the procedure to get the truck temp mode and made sure the level was correct with the right amount of fluid. Took it for a drive and was shifting fine besides when I romped on it, it slipped about one rpm a few times, nothing terrible, but does the fluid need to work its way around? Or do I need to pull the trans apart and figure it out from there?
